"Size Difference World" Game Development Story

Hi!

As per tradition, I'm making the new post into the development story of the Size Difference World game.

Of course, I'm sad to receive a lot of negative feedback. Sometimes, I get so depressed that I want to quit this activity... But then I look at my children and I realize that I will do everything possible and impossible to make sure that they have a good life! I have been working without weekends and vacations for several years (I don't even remember how many). And only the thinking about my children doesn't allow me to burn out.

Yes, unfortunately, not everyone likes the quality of the content I create. But I do the best I can, given my life situation, which I've talked about many times in earlier posts... Yes, this game is not a AAA project. It's my indie project for a narrow range of fans. I'm making this game pretty much on my own enthusiasm, and unfortunately I can't do the game full-time. That's why the development speed is so slow...

Another factor in the slowdown is that I am, in parallel, working on another game called Final Exam. That game already has a potential publisher (unfortunately, not a sponsor), and he, from time to time, hustles me... But more about that later, in another post... The second game is nearing the end of development, and I'm hoping that, after its release, I'll be able to devote more time to Size Difference World.

This weekend I'm continuing to move into the game the scenario of the main character's time spent at his new girlfriends house. I don't know how it happened, but this part of the scenario was too big to complete it in a couple of weekends. The process was slowed down by the fact that the script didn't include dialog when the protagonist is alone with one of the girls. I thought that I would write these dialogs on the fly, using general phrases. After all, anyway, in the final stage of polishing the game, all the dialogs will be revised and improved, along with adding and improving the images of the cutscenes... But, in fact, making these simple dialogs on the fly turned out to be much more difficult than I thought it would be. It will be necessary, in the future, to write out every single dialog, and only then proceed to add it to the game!

Now all dialogs are transferred to the game. For now, I'll leave them as they are. I'll be improving them during the polishing phase... I apologize if the dialogs don't seem to be of high quality right now...

Next, according to the plan, I need to transfer to the game final dialogs with the girls, where the main character will have to make a very important choice, on which depends on the further course of the game. I also need to create one branch, which is already spelled out in the dialogs, but, so far, not worked out... I think those who have seen the working build will understand what I'm talking about...

The new image for the the secondary scene in the bathhouse was created. It has already been added to the working build, and to the special section in the private gallery (Size Difference World The Game / 2025 / 05 / May 25).
