1989-94 Procyon Avior

The 1989 Procyon Avior is a high-end luxury saloon developed for the export market by Hirochi. It marked the beginning of the Procyon brand, and was sold until 1994 with a 1993 technology update. It saw massive success in it's goal of usurping the North American and European luxury vehicle markets, then dominated by German competitors, and was known for it's build quality, reliability and general craftsmanship. It was also sold in the Japanese market under the Hirochi Theria name.

The car was powered by a 4.0L naturally-aspirated V8, mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission which drove the rear wheels, making 248bhp and 312Nm of torque. It weighs in at about 1800kg (3950lb).

The mod has been worked on since October 2022, and has been my main project for most of that time. It is entirely standalone as a vehicle and mod.

Features

• Complete and comprehensive models, jbeams and textures for the exterior, interior, underside and engine bay, with a high attention to detail on every part of the car.
• Full support for USDM, EUDM and UKDM, with enough parts to create other domestic markets. These are complemented by a JDM counterpart, under the Hirochi brand.
• Fully comprehensive glowmap, with baked base colour and glow textures for lights and their glass to ensure realism, making use of the fading halogen lights added in 0.34.
• Large amounts of OEM customisability, with options for gold or silver trimming on the grille and badges, an optional bonnet ornament, privacy glass, clear/orange indicator and foglight glass, switchable exhaust tips and more. Also an optional carphone in the centre console and a late-model navigation screen as examples for the interior.
• Interior features, such as lowerable sunvisors, triggers for the ignition switch and hazard lights, functional domelights, door entry lights, an openable centre console lid, custom and accurate sounds for the shifter, indicator stalk and parking brake, full lighting for all switchgear and screens, and both hand drives with all equipment able to accommodate for both.
• 10 interior colour options, with an upper and a lower tone on each.
• 5 OEM wheel options with 2 aftermarket options, with custom OEM tire textures.
• Comprehensive aftermarket support for exterior, interior, engine bay and underside.
• Fully-functional air suspension system with dynamic damping and height settings, with self-levelling functionality.
