Hi

Hi, Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you’re doing well.

First I want to say sorry that I don’t write much here and am not very active in other media. It just has to do with the way my writing process works. Like, when I do programming it doesn’t distract me much and I don’t really give a shit but when I sit down to write I really need my head to be free of any irrelevant thoughts and this includes the social presence and everything that comes with it. Unlike programming, writing is not something I’ve been doing for years professionally so it takes quite a lot of time and focus for me to gather, express, and amend all this mess consisting of dozens of characters, worldbuilding aspects, locations, and what the player can do with all of this. But that’s just one of the reasons why an update takes so long. Another is the dungeon I’m currently working on is just getting bigger the more I’m working on it)) Like when I sit down to write a scene I’ve outlined the previous day, it just grows with choices I couldn’t even think of. Like what if the player wants to do this instead of that and what if I add this attribute check or that thing. Oh well, I guess I need to change another block of text too to reflect the choice the player might have made. Like, it’s really a tiny thing in itself but it adds up to LOTS of tiny things.

But overall this post is not exactly me trying to offer excuses because of the delay. I actually like how the whole process is going. I’ve learned a lot in the past months about how to optimize the development process because when I started, that WAS a real mess. As for how much is left before I roll out an update... I really don’t want to make predictions because it just will force my monkey-brain to roll out an unfinished product which is not exactly what I’m striving for. Plus, though I don’t have a real full-time job and spend most of the time working on the game, it’s really hard to make any predictions because I still have to take a job on the side once in a while to pay the bills(and as I’ve said the game just gets bigger and bigger). What I can say is that it’s ALMOST done(though I had the same thoughts half a month ago...). Anyway, the main bulk of the dungeon is written. There are just a few sex scenes left + creating a bunch of items + scripting all of this + adding some features to the game engine and ofc testing all of it. Which is actually not much work compared to thousands of words of content to write and polish(at least to some degree).

Anyhow, I really hope I’ll roll out an update the next month and though it’s already almost twice as big as the current content, it will not be some kind of milestone or anything because it’s just a tiny fraction of the content I’m going to implement from the notes strewn all over my google docs. In my modest estimation, a million words would not be enough to get to the meat of the game(some of the scenes are already written and just waiting for me to catch up...). So yeah, I’m here for a long haul :valve_icon:.

And of course, thank everyone for your support, financial, moral, or both.  It means a lot to me.

P.S: Don’t hesitate to spread the word about the game. Word-of-mouth is basically the only way for people to know this game exists.
