Hello !
For sure, I heard a lot about this movie, a Stanley Kubrick movie, but I didn't know what it would truly be about before reading the synopsis. I really loved discovering it ! I didn't expect for a movie talking about nuclear attacks which can destroy the world, to be that fun to watch ! I had so many good moments of laughter, thanks to the actors who played their characters so right, thanks to the situations which were so well written⦠even the music made me laugh !
Watching this movie just after discovering Fallout, it's in fact a good idea because it shows the obsessions/fears that countries/people can have about some subjects. Watching it while the current state of the world is not that good, it was a way to talk about it and see what changed or not since that period of time. And you know me, I'm not afraid of showing my political opinions. I'm so glad that I discovered this movie with you guys !

These countries were led by people who had fought in World War II and had no desire for a third one. Now, as far as we know, there are nine countries with nuclear weapons. Three are led by psychopaths: North Korea, Russia, and the US. Three countries are currently at war, two with each other: Israel, India, and Pakistan. The world hasn't improved. But I still loved your reaction.

The song "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" is a song from the American Civil War that expressed people's longing for the return of their friends and relatives who were fighting in the war. Peter Sellers played Mandrake, the U.S. President, and Dr. Strangelove. He's maybe most well known for playing a blundering police inspector for the Pink Panther films ( comedies ). There are some silly names for characters in "Dr. Strangelove" - for example the crazy guy who orders the plane bomb attack is named "Jack Ripper" ( imagine the word THE added ). The Russian leader is named "Premier Kissoff" ( kiss off ). Operation Chrome Dome was a United States Air Force Cold War-era mission from 1961 to 1968 in which B-52 strategic bomber aircraft armed with thermonuclear weapons remained on continuous airborne alert. While there was fear of such an idea back then, the "doomsday device" did not exist. An enjoyable Laura reaction as usual.
