As always, when we have a character dying during the episode, turned out that I jinxed myself during the intro : "we're close to the end of the combat, we won a lot of fights, so I think we can win at the end but by losing one main character" and "Nanami, ah no ! We just had the reveal that he survived, it can't." I HATE MYSELF. It was such a shock, for me and clearly for Yuji as well. And it was written like that.
We were not sure if he survived or not, he reappears being hurt as well, exhausted. But, no matter what, he manages to fight against thousands of creatures, with his mind being into that safe place at the beach. It made me have hope, "I hope at some point, at the end of everything, you can have that peaceful moment, just smiling". No, he's not gonna have it, and it's awful. And I know, I said that if at some point he would die, it would during an epic and emotional moment. Here, it was the case, and it's also meaningful, with that final line for Yuji proving he trusts him, he's proud of himโฆ But it hurts so much.

Hello ! Nanami also appeared during an hidden scene after one ending credit like being alive (maybe you missed it ?), it was a surprise and really fast, so I understood he survived the "total burning" thing, and I was so happy by the fact that he was alive that I didn't check the damages that still the burning made on him. And I didn't miss the fact that Mahito created a double, it was just not clear if it was a copy (so one you can eliminate, the og one only counts) or really him dividing himself in two parts (with both being important, you have to merge them again together at some point), and it was not clear also which one was for what, which one was the og one etc. But yes, end of the episode, everything was cleared, no worries ๐

Also you missed during this episode that Mahito made a double of himself one to patrol the subway and one to patrol up top before all the Jogo,Dagon, Choso and himself split up to look for Yuji. Hope that explains somethings.

Iโd love nothing more than for Nanami to be alive, to retire and go to Malaysia, to be on that beach ๐. But like you said, if he has to die, I think that this was the right way to do it. I am glad that he had an epic last stand and got to say his final words to Yuuji. He was strong until the very end. ๐ That is the only reason I can really accept his death. It was heartbreaking, but it was done well. Beautiful and painful. Now, if youโll excuse me, I have to go cry myself to sleep ๐ฅฒ๐ซถ
