I filmed this one day before the announce of David Lynch's death… It felt really weird because I bingewatch Twin Peaks since months, I watch this movie, and that news felt so unreal for me. Maybe as much as this movie and David Lynch's productions in general ? I finished this one not being sure if I understood it fully. I could resume it, but did I get everything that happened in it… Not sure, and not sure that it's truly interesting.
Because once again, David Lynch created a movie so it's gonna feel like a disturbing experience. Here, it was playing a lot with the sounds and clearly, it triggered me a lot ! I had the impression someone was stabbing my brain again and again. But it was not only to be painful, it was also to denounce the fact we're surrounded by mechanical sounds, we're never in silence anymore, that period of time. And in fact, a lot of subjects are explored in the movie, like being a parent and taking care of your kid, whether you/them feel good or not.

2025-02-05 03:51:15 +0000 UTCeh ben! bienvenue dans le monde de David Lynch! oui, il est peintre en premier mais, juste avant ce film, il à créé ce qu'on appel les "short films of David Lynch". tous sur Youtube je pense? "6 Men Getting Sick", "The Alphabet" et "The Grandmother". plus d'autres petits projets après le film "Hotel Room" et "The Cowboy And The Frenchman". afin de bien visionner le film, David nous propose une calibration pour l'écran du contraste et de la luminosité sur le DVD. ensuite il faut l'écouter la nuit, avec bon système de son si possible. (pour toi ça va avec juste la télé.😑je t'ai trouvé forte d'y allé jusqu'au bout!) pour moi, le son et l'image font 1. j'adore les détails de chacun! et même si le film est sombre pour moi l'image est impeccable! le motif du plancher devant l'élévateur, le fait qu'il reste entre les portes à attendre les bras croisés comme Cooper, la femme du radiateur, les image d'imeubles géants avec le personnage tout petit, la géométrie des plans, l'ombre et la lumière etc... c'est tout un oeuvre d'art. pour l'histoire tu es pas mal dessus! c'est un cauchemar de nouveaux parents! plus le reste... l'a-t-il fait? l'a-t-il pas fait? est-ce dans sa tête ou non? c'est-il suicidé à la fin? beaucoup de questions! un "masterpiece" en constante évolution comme la carte de Hawk. ça serait plus facile d'en parler que de l'écrire! les Pixies on repris la chanson et c'est assez spécial! oh! j'oubliais presque de dire que, la première fois que j'ai vu ce film, j'avais à peine 20 ans et même si j'étudiais l'art du cinéma en général au cégep, j'ai pas compris grand chose. donc mon attention c'est plus porté sur l'image que de comprendre. la peur d'être un parent semblait être la base. le bout du petit objet qui bouge en stop motion ça... je comprend toujours pas... lol excellentes réactions et réflexions! keep having fun!
