Progress report on the game “Succubus Battle” ~Last spurt towards completion next month~

As a long-term project, I'm currently working on a game called [Succubus Battle] where you can have seriously erotic one-on-one battles with various succubi.

◆Currently creating a battle scene with the master

The Master is the final enemy and the main heroine of this game.

Just like other characters, there are Level 1 to Level 3 battles, and each level has its own different sexual motions.

The next version will add 4 new unreleased finishing animations.

While other characters have 3 types of finish animations, Master's finish animations have a total of 7 types! !

It's tough, but she's an important character, so I'll be careful to create her.

◆Improvement system for when you can't beat the game

I've received some feedback that the game is too difficult and can't be completed.

As a solution, I'm going to introduce the following system.

When you lose to each enemy a certain number of times, a "clear button for each enemy character" will appear in the retry scene.

I'm planning to release the latest version that incorporates these features around the beginning of next month.

It's almost time for the game to be completed! !!

Hmm, I checked, and the difficulty of the escape is the same for all three bosses. I made them by copying the same settings. Same behavior in my test play. I'll adjust the overall difficulty, so I hope that will solve your problem...

Ah, you're talking about escaping. When I tried it, if I started pressing as soon as I was caught, I had about 4 chances to escape. (I tried pressing about 65 times per 10 seconds.) This is when the enemy's speed is at stage 1 or 2. If the enemy's speed reaches stage 3, it's difficult to escape. (It's also a strategy to give up and conserve player's HP.) It's certainly strange that you only have 2 chances to escape. Hmm, what could be the cause? - I have a setting that makes it difficult to escape when the player's HP falls below 50%, but I'm going to remove that. - I'm thinking of unifying the difficulty of escape with other enemies, so I'll recheck the game as a whole. (If you were able to escape with other enemies, this fix may improve your problem)

I used a tracker and I can press the button 98 times in 10 seconds, that speed was not enough to button mash my way out of the second time I was grabbed by the third boss, a time where my character HP and the boss HP were both full. If 98 presses in ten seconds isn't fast enough to mash my way out even at full health something is wrong.

As a test, I tried pressing the button repeatedly without pushing myself too hard, and I was able to press it about 62 times in 10 seconds. You can clear the game at this pace, but does this pace make you tired? By the way, when I press the button hard, I can press it 78 times. In this case, even I get tired. Hmm. A possible future fix would be to make it easier to press the button repeatedly when the enemy's HP is low.

Even when mashing while they're down my hand and arm get exhausted. By the time the battle's over they're hurting. And I ran track and worked in a warehouse for years... I think the press requirements are tied to framerate bc my computer's a bit if a beast.

It might be tied to frame rate. If you're using update and not adjusting it by time.deltatime that'll happen. But it's been forever since I've had a chance to work with Unity so I can't give exact examples right now.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I want players to play the battle first in this game, so if the HP is high, the sexual attack button mashing will not be successful. I adjusted the button mashing to be successful when the enemy's HP gauge is around yellow. It is easier to mash the button when the HP gauge is red or the enemy is down. I think that point should be explained in more detail in the manual or tutorial. I'm sorry, but I can't adjust the difficulty any more than this, even though you said you got tired of the 3rd boss "Knight" and quit. It's because this enemy's characteristic is that it launches hold attacks even during combo attacks. I don't really want to say it, but you can defeat her relatively easily with "upper attacks" and "charged shot attacks". These are not affected much by the enemy's hold attacks. It's true that this game is not for players who get frustrated by losing. However, I like games where you get excited about not being able to clear it and search for ways to beat it, and I want to make such games. I would be sorry if my game-making skills were not good enough to make that happen.

I own a top of the line pc with a mechanical keyboard and I was either A)button mashing faster than the game checked and lost that way or B)the mashing requirement is just way too high on the 3rd boss. This was also with both characters at full health, so hp adjustments weren't even factored in yet. It's also not a matter of knocking back the 3rd boss as she can grab you in the middle of combos or just before you attack for the first time, grabbing so fast it's unavoidable. This leads to frustration and personally made me quit playing altogether. A clear button will not solve this issue as the boss is just way too difficult, do remember you programmed this "key to strategy" so it's obvious to you but would likely take a player repeating the boss over and over again until they get frustrated and just quit like I did.

Thank you for your opinion. I would like to adjust the number of button presses. However, in my test play on my PC, I didn't find it very difficult, so it may depend on your PC environment. Also, the program is designed so that button mashing may not be successful depending on the remaining HP of the enemy and the player. The 3rd boss won't be knocked back by normal attacks, but some types of attacks will knock her back. I think that's the key to strategy. As you say, my ideal would be not to create a clear button. However, I don't want to lower the difficulty of the game any further if possible. Currently, if you win 5 times at LV1, you can get 100% loyalty. However, depending on the player's condition and circumstances, this may not be possible. That's the worst case. As a countermeasure, I would like to make the clear button appear so that the player can watch all the animations.

I don't think it needs a clear button, that will just make the player feel bad about the game being too difficult. For me the main difficulty points is the inhuman button mashing required after the second fight and just how fast the enemies can sex grab you, being near instant and unavoidable on the 3rd boss.
