The scenes of Thorfinn & Einar fishing with Sverkel (the old master) along with the conversation they have while walking back afterwards are immensely emotional & full of depth. I especially like how Sverkel teaching them to use the fishing net is a literal visualization of βgive a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetimeβduring a time where learning & growing is more beneficial to Thorfinn & Einar than receiving handouts of charity. Sverkel consistently gives them opportunities that help our duo develop beneficial skills, & recognizes their honesty & efforts.
