The 2025 Project Brainstorm and Roadmap
Added 2024-12-13 19:55:01 +0000 UTCThis year, I’ve really broadened the range of content I create. Along with my usual comics and stories, I experimented with music and short animations. However, the core of this Patreon remains focused on my narrative comics, and that’s not changing. In 2025, I plan to continue supporting my ongoing titles while introducing more frequent, shorter, and lighter projects each month—adding variety in mood, tone, and style, whether fun, serious, or ~sexy~.
This is a doozy of a long post where I'm going to try to walk through some of my plans and thoughts about next year.
Discord
I started a Discord server recently. If you haven't joined yet, please come on by! https://discord.gg/cg5FWnNWdq
It’s quiet so far, but I use it as a sort of micro-blog, sharing extra frames that don’t fit into any main projects, chatting about tech, and sometimes posting behind-the-scenes looks at my video experiments. It’s a great place to share memes, offer feedback, and hang out with other fans.
Early Access Tiers
I'm in a good place going into next year—January’s releases are already lined up for the first two weeks. One goal is to adjust a few of the Patreon tiers to focus more on early access. Here's the current plan, intended to starting in January:
FN Super Advance (formerly Silent Supporter): Starting January 5, members at this tier get early access to new releases for two weeks.
FN Advance (formerly Ticket to the Download Me Experience): Starting January 12, members at this tier get one week of early access.
Both Advance and Super Advance tiers will have special spoiler channels on Discord for discussion. Because this is a true early access system, I might tweak content before wider release if any issues are spotted. Right now I'm open to feedback on this plan.
Daily Updates
I generally plan to release something just about every day, which is what I've been doing for just about the last six months with minimal exception.
To be clear, exceptions can occur. The biggest break this year was February, when I got sick. Obviously, I am a single human being and sometimes things happen, but I've been working up to build more 'buffer' so that when that happens, it doesn't affect the release cycle so drastically. Since I switched to the odds/evens system, I've had a much more consistent release pace for comic projects.
Multi-media projects do make daily release schedules more complicated. "Download Me" ends up being kind of a black hole of time, since editing one video can easily take the equivalent amount of time as an entire comic issue, but there's no great way to 'spread' a Download Me release out over 20 days, and I don't like having the comics grind to a halt while I'm working on those videos. I'm still basically figuring out how to match multimedia projects to my approach to Patreon scheduling.
Still, I'm aiming for a daily release schedule for at least the next six months. Although, to be honest, if patrons ever say, “We’d prefer weekly updates,” I’m willing to reconsider how I pace the updates.
Release Schedule for 2025: “Odds and Evens”
My schedule for 2025 revolves around a simple concept: odd and even days.
The below is just a rough estimate of the next six months, not a promise. It's subject to change as I balance in smaller projects like textless sequences, short animations, commissions, and fun experiments.
“Odds” Titles:
Bunnygirl (Issue 2 launches December 19 and runs into early February. Issue 3 likely starts around April.)
Secretary to CEO (Issue 3 launches in early February.)
“Evens” Titles:
E-Girl (Issue 6 resumes December 18, running through January.)
LARP (Issue 2 starts late January or early February, possibly with tabletop and kinetic novel elements.)
After LARP #2 wraps, I’ll hold a vote on a new standalone title, probably launching around April.
Monthly Content Mix
A typical month might feature:
24 comic series page updates (i.e. 12 odds pages, 12 evens pages).
6 “other” updates, including micro-comics, short animations, songs, and music videos.
My main goal is to nurture the stories I’ve already begun and which are still fresh in reader's minds:
Bunnygirl and Secretary to CEO: I feel like the overall response to these titles has been very positive. I want the pacing to feel consistent on these and basically plan to have at least two pages from whichever title is currently active every week this year.
E-Girl: Planned through Issue 8. I'm going to have a vote after the end of issue 6 on renewing it through Issue 8, but that's mostly to see the temperature and make sure it's still connecting. Right now I'm assuming that I'll be starting the release of Issue 7 around May.
LARP I'm hoping after issue 2 the 'core narrative loop' of the series will be clearer. I'll take the temperature on that title after Issue 2.
I also want to schedule in some consistent variety.
Recurring Variety Monthly Features:
Wish Granted: A 1-page micro-comic around the 4th of the month (or an alternate micro comic).
Flipped Flirts: Animated gender-flipped flirtations, at least through May (concept may evolve later).
Additional micro-comics around the 12th and 20th of each month.
Intermittent songs, music videos, animations, and textless sequences.
Holiday-themed events.
Download Me Updates
“Download Me” will continue, though the schedule is in flux—if people feel good about the style I have adopted for the next song, then I'll probably aim for one full video every two months. I am releasing a Download Me song at the end of this month called "Smiles" -- this is the first song not from the MC's POV but is a kind of 'establishing shot' for the Act 3 antagonists. If Patrons don't really feel like AI animation is 'there yet' then I might push back future Download Me updates until the models have improved. In particular, I can't really get lip-syncing to work for the singing, which... honestly is a huge obstacle which in itself might mean I hold off on Act 3 Song 2 until I have a model that can achieve lip-syncing with anime characters. So put a big asterisk on this project.
Post-July
With my current systems in place, I hope to have new content updates every single day of 2025. Part of the point of this long post is basically to say -- you should be able to feel pretty comfortable doing an annual subscription! I had well over 300 content updates this last year, and I think next year will be even more solid.
I do think it was a mistake last year trying to 'plan out' the entire year in advance. So this year, post-July, I’m keeping my plans flexible--or at least plan to check the temperature come late June or July. Technological advances might inspire completely new directions, and it would be pointless to say I want to do X comic come July when I might want to spend that month doing animation.
To Revisit Hiatus Titles?
I think I would be happier in April doing a completely new standalone title. But, I could alternatively return to titles that have gone on hiatus. I think I have on the whole gotten a lot better at managing writer's block, in large part by shifting to the odds/evens system which allows me to shift to a different project when I start to hit a wall and get less frustrated. In part I adopted that system because of the frustration I felt in February when I was sick and ran into a wall on French Maid.
I'm still thinking about French Maid and Mermaid, and might have one or the other on the vote in a few days. To be clear, neither of these titles are "dead," I've just been holding off on them to focus on the current lineup.
Commissions
I’m considering tweaking commission tiers—maybe offering music-plus-animation loops, or story-plus-image commissions. Possibly reopening the “I TG You” tier with limited slots, or introducing a roleplay-inspired tier. I guess I'll just say that I'm planning to edit my commission options, so if there's a type of content you would consider commissioning at a certain price point, definitely let me know!
Adapting to New Tech
In 2024, I pivoted from a Twine RPG to “Download Me” because music generation tech got really exciting. That’s the kind of flexibility I want to maintain. If another tech leap happens, I might shift plans again—like jumping into AI video or improving anime lip-sync for full animated episodes.
Ultimately, I’m giving myself permission to evolve, experiment, and follow the fun while still ensuring daily content. Technology changes fast, and I want to be ready to take advantage of it.
Final Thoughts
I really just want to end this with a big thank you to everyone for your patience through all the ups and downs this year. There have been a lot of downs for me this year -- severe illness in February where I just got no comics done, Gumroad suddenly deciding it doesn't want to sell trans comics anymore, issues with other distributors I haven't talked about as much (TuneCore sucks)... there's been more days this year where I woke up to an email that made me go "WTF JUST HAPPENED?" than I'd have liked.
But thanks to your support, I've managed to keep going. You’ve allowed me to dive deeper into music, video, comics, and more. I couldn’t have done it without you! I think I'm close to melting my GPU I've made so many images for this Patreon 0.o . Really, unironically, I could not still be doing this without you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your continued support. I really think you're going to have a blast with what I have cooking for this next year, and I hope you stick around to see it!
