LARP: 9

Patty, Sandy, and Malik too soon began to become harder to see--the rainbow became brighter, and I started feeling really weird.

"Let's see what we have here..." the booming, ethereal voice of Zoe sounded. "It looks like you veered somewhat toward a conventional bard. +3 Charisma, -1 Strength, female, elf..."

"Uhh, maybe I should make some changes to my sheet..." I began to say.

"Silence! You have spoken the words. This is the character you wanted to play. Do not be afraid to play your fantasy. This is a game!"

Even as Zoe spoke, I could feel my body beginning to shift. My waist felt like it was pulling in. My chest was... changing?

I could feel my blue jeans morphing and shifting, as green began to pour out over my purple shirt. I felt like my hair was tugging down on the back of my head as it began to grow out.

"Zoe, I just wanted to use a female AI voice for the songs... I didn't realize you were going to use real magic!" I couldn't even believe I was acknowledging that what was happening was really magic, but I'd used magic mushrooms and acid in my wild college days, and this was nothing like those experiences.

"You are a female elf," Zoe's voice boomed. "You are a female elf bard with +3 Charisma... you're gorgeous, you're hot. You can feel the dress hugging your curves... You can reroll a new character for our next session if you really want to, Seb, but for now, you have agreed to play... what was your name?"

"Eimi," I said, blushing. Even as I said the name, I could feel my ears spring out on either side of my head. My hands slid up to them, feeling them--so strange--somehow even stranger than the dress my shirt was morphing into...

"Of course, a bard entertainer... a common archetype," Zoe said. "Skilled with a wide range of instruments. Persuasive. Perceptive. A healer and a manipulator. I'm looking forward to playing with you. . . Eimi." 

As Zoe spoke those words, I could feel more changes, not just to my body but to the world around me as well. We weren't in Patty's living room anymore. I could feel a slight warmth in my legs as I found myself standing now in heeled leather boots.

I felt the last of my blue jeans morph into the dress, and then could even feel the fabric slide up my leg, revealing my knee and thighs. Even as it did, I felt a slight rocking motion. I looked to my left and could see not a living room, but a starry night sky, clearly visible out over a twilight ocean.

I couldn't believe my eyes... I was in Zoe's world!

And I was... an elf woman!
