2024 Preview 3: Super Shifter
Added 2023-12-23 20:00:03 +0000 UTCI can't believe it's been all the way back in September that I first mentioned Super Shifter - https://www.patreon.com/posts/super-shifter-88715658 . I've been intentionally holding off on this project because frankly all the existing technology would fight me too much for what I want to do with it. However, we're getting much closer, and I'm hoping that by the middle of next year I'll really be able to get going on this.
This is a story about a shapeshifting martial artist superhero who joins a super-hero squad. I'm still thinking about how exactly I would organize it -- the obvious route would probably be starting with the origin story of how this martial artist became a shapeshifter.
A key element of what I want for this character is to not just be a genderbent version of mystique, but also to have the character explore adding non-human elements to their transformations, like bird wings.
Character 1 is the Super Shifter, able to grow wings (this is one reason I've held off so far, I was having a lot of issues with action frames, but you can see here they've gotten a lot better).
Character 2 is Ice Bro, an ice themed macho frat-boy super villain.
Character 3 is Charlie Darwin, Super Shifter's arch-nemesis.
Character 4 is Foxfire, a superheroine member of the new squad Super Shifter joins.
This probably won't exactly be the final look, but I'd like to explore one project in a Marvel/DC-vein style sometime in the next year.
