Alleys #2: This is one of the early images from one of the first big projects I really started working on, trying to get a sense of how to generate consistent enough characters to tell a story. This was meant to be Nick from Miracle Nick before the isekai adventure begins. Yet in depicting him walking down an alley, another figure appears behind him... haunting the alleyway behind him. Will it still be there if he turns around? Floating ethereally through the air, it seems 'not wholly there' and yet it still seems to pursue him...

Drowning: I don't remember how many generations I ran trying to get anything at all workable for the drowning sequence in Help! I'm Stuck as a Mermaid! I ended up having to do significant inpainting just to get something that would at all work in a frame. Yet the original frame is still really fascinating to me; it does, I think, convey a surrealist sense of "drowning" in an accidental way through the body horror it constructed, the sense that the body itself in that moment of panic and terror is itself warping and melding, becoming impossible to escape in a way that mere ropes cannot.
