About Working environment(PC)

I am asked about this from time to time, so I would like to make this a quiet article with an explanation.

I use a self-built PC with the following configuration.

CPU: i5-10400F

I'm using the lowest grade of i5, which is often considered surprising. I thought, "It's 1.5 times more powerful than the Haswell I used to use", but the number of cores has increased from 4 to 6 (but the price is unchanged).

But even this is over specs, so I may go for i3 next time. I usually have no trouble using ClipStudio.

Memory: DDR4-21300 16GBx4 64GB

The part where I made the most mistakes: I should have used 32GB and bought a resource book with the difference. In addition, I don't open many browser tabs & don't leave them open, so I think 16GB would have been enough. I wonder if I need it if I do a lot of drawing work in Photoshop...

Motherboard & CPU cooler & power supply unit

Configuration with no special points to mention. Each is a product that was popular at the time, and since there is no use of CPU full power, water-cooling was not used. The power supply unit also chose the lowest capacity in the shop, so even this is excessive performance (in calculation, about 300W is enough).

GPU: GTX1060 6GB

I was using a Radeon HD6850 given to me by an acquaintance when the GPU died the moment I "blasted a mini-nuke at a horde of ghouls in a glowing lake in a building city after defeating a courser in Fallout 4".

I had my first experience with a GPU with an auxiliary power connector with the HD6850, so I went up a bit from there to a GTX1060. I was freaked out when I could run Skyrim with ENB in it. (The one I was using before that was HD5670 or something like that).

By the way, the part of my hobby that I don't need the most for drawing work. When I play WWE2K22 or Street Fighter 5, I appreciate the performance.

Storage: M.2 SSD 1TB & HDD 2TB

Although I had bought more SSDs, I went for M.2 because of the wiring clutter and the lower price of SSDs. Although 500GB is not used my style.

As for HDDs, I have been replacing 1.5TB-2TB HDDs with a medium price in a span of three years. I use here is also about 500 GB. The purpose is for storing past manuscripts, pictures and photos.

Disk drive: none.

Although previously fitted, it has recently been removed due to the increasing number of cases without 5-inch bays, largely due to the presence of Netflix and Bandai Channel, and the fact that Windows can now be installed using USB memory.

This is roughly what it looks like.

Except for things that are changed together (like motherboard + CPU), each one is updated when I feel like it. Except for the one that was blown up by a nuke, it is working fine without any sudden breakdowns.

時々聞かれるので解説ついでに閑話記事にでもしたいと思います。 

使っているのは自作PCで以下のような構成です。 

 CPU：i5-10400F 意外に思われる事が多いんですがi5の一番下のグレードを使ってます。「今まで使ってたHaswellより1.5倍は性能上がってるぜ！」って思ったらコア数が4→6になっててそりゃそうだった（でも値段は据え置き 大丈夫か）。 尚これでもオーバースペックなので次はi3にするかも。普段ClipStudioを使う場合に困った事は無いです。Fなのは単純に安かったから。  

メモリ：DDR4-21300 16GBx4 64GB 一番失敗した部分。32GBにして差額で資料本を買えばよかった。おまけにブラウザタブとかも多数開かない＆開きっぱなしにしないので、16GBでも十分だった気がします。バリバリPhotoshopで作画作業すると必要なのかな…。  

マザーボード＆CPUクーラー＆電源ユニット 特筆する点の無い構成。それぞれ当時普及していた製品です。CPUフルパワーで使う事も無いので水冷化はしませんでした。電源ユニットもお店で一番低い容量を選んだのでこれでも過剰性能（計算上は300W程で十分）。  

GPU：GTX1060 6GB 知人からもらったRadeon HD6850を使っていたところ「Fallout4でコーサーを倒した後、ビル街の中にある光る湖のグールの大群にミニニュークをぶっ放した」瞬間にGPUが逝く。 HD6850で初めて補助電源コネクタありのGPUを経験したのもあって、そこから少し上のGTX1060にしました。SkyrimでENB入れても余裕で動くようになってビビった。（その前使ってたのはHD5670とか） ちなみに作画作業に一番要らない趣味の部分。WWE2K22やストリートファイター5をやる時は性能に感謝。  

ストレージ：M.2SSD 1TB＆HDD 2TB SSDは買い足したりしていたものの、配線ごちゃついたりSSDが安価になったりしたのでM.2に。ゲーム入れたりした上で500GBも使ってないものの、SSDに関しては容量は適度に多い方がいいので適量。 HDDは以前から1.5TB～2TBで中くらいの値段のを3年スパンで買い替えてます。こちらも使っているのは500GBほど。用途は過去原稿や絵と写真の保存用。  

ディスクドライブ：無し 以前までは付けていたものの、最近5インチベイを備えないケースが増えたのもあって撤去。Netflixやバンダイチャンネルの存在も大。WindowsもUSBメモリでインストール出来る時代になった。   

大体こんな感じです。 一緒に変えるもの（マザーボード＋CPUとか）以外はそれぞれ気が向いたら更新。核でふっ飛ばした以外は突発故障もなく元気に動いてます。
