Lucy trailed behind the fuming Dragon Slayer Mage as she looked down out the new job they had taken. It was a good one, in that it paid well even in comparison to some other jobs, she hoped the payment offered was legit otherwise rent was going to be a challenge once again. But of course, her companion wasn’t really concerned about the pay, he was just throwing a fit after getting into another spat with Gray. Lucy wasn’t around to see what had happened but apparently, in a shocking turn of events, Happy took Gray’s side in the argument, so now the pink haired boy was sulking all throughout the trip.
“Natsu.” He didn’t seem to hear her. “Hey, Natsu?” Still off in his own little world. “Hey, Natsu!” She yelled, annoyed at how immature he was being.
“What?” His expression was doing his best to stay focused but clearly failing due to what he was actually concerned about: the fight.
Lucy puffed up her cheeks, “Geez, I know your upset about the fight, but I need to you to focus up on this job.”
“Sorry. But don’t worry, just point me in the direction of the bad guys and I’ll blast them away.”
Lucy sighed, he really wasn’t paying attention when we took the job, “Sorry Natsu, but I’m forbidding fighting on this job.”
“Wait what!? Come on, please Lucy.” Natsu looked like a lost puppy.
“Natsu, exactly half the point of the job is for us NOT to get into a fight.” Lucy groaned as she showed him the job details for the second time. “We were asked to attend the Snapdragon Ball for Duchess Julien and steal a log book from the host, Duke Scaralog.”
“If we’re just going to steal a book, why aren’t we allowed to fight?” Natsu pouted indignantly.
“One, because the Queen will there, two, because if we cause a scene that reflects badly on the duchess, she won’t pay us, and I need to pay rent!” Lucy countered with an increased ferocity.
Natsu deflated slightly as he realized he couldn’t cut loose like usual. “Fine.”
Lucy could tell it was going to be an uphill battle convincing him to take the request seriously. “Look, for now let’s just visit the Duchess first and tell her we accepted the job.” Lucy went to move on but, “And try to not look so sad when we are meeting her. I don’t want her declining our help because she thinks we don’t want the job.”
“But I don’t want the job.”
Lucy did the deepest groan as she went on ahead. This was not going to get any easier, was it?
The pair made their way to the Duchess’ villa, Lucy having to catch Natsu making a couple or wrong turns here and there along the way. The place was luxurious and secluded, a definite home away from home sort of feel for the noble lady; a fact that would have been frustrating to most people. Natsu wasn’t the sort to care, and Lucy was far too preoccupied with her companion to ponder. An assortment of servants rotated through facility, though neither really paid them any mind, fulfilling a level service expected of their mistress’ station.
“Thanking you for having us, your Ladyship.” Lucy politely greeted as she forced Natsu’s head down along with hers.
“Think nothing of it. I’m not so gauche as to deny courtesy to those who would do me a service.” The noblewoman’s speech, like her hair and dress, was extravagantly ornamental, finely pronouncing every syllable to better demonstrate the deservedness of her title.
“Of course. If I may ask, why do you need us to steal the log book from Duke Scaralog?”
Julien’s smile crinkled, “Ah yes, the duke,” She spit the words as if tasting raw sewage, “he is contemptuous, greedy, underhanded, stupid little…” She caught herself before the polite mask fully shattered, “eh hem, it is believed that he is involved with an unsavory sort of rabble, and I believe that we should get rid of that… filth with the ready expediency it deserves.”
“I see. So, you want us to expose him.”
“What I would like is proof: it basically an open secret that Scaralog is involved in something criminal. But, unfortunately, the rules and procedures with investigating him lend him well too much time to hide the mess he is making.” She corrected extensively.
“Then you should go in there and beat the snot out of him. I’m not letting some stupid rules get in the way of beating up bad guys.” Natsu chimed in, finally at least motivated to speak his mind.
Julien failed to stifle a giggle behind her fan, “What, we should just break the rules willy-nilly whenever it is inconvenient? Let anarchy reign? No, it is best for everyone that rules are in place. Perhaps this little job will give you that education.” She brushed him off before addressing Lucy once again, “I cannot attend the Snapdragon Ball next week for risking an appearance with Lady Rubenny. Which is why I need you two to represent my house in my stead and steal the log book.” The Duchess eyed Natsu for a moment before returning her gaze to Lucy. “Do you think you can manage that?” Her question was pointed like a knife, a clear threat that failure was not an option.
Lucy gulped, “Of course. We won’t let you down.” She declared partly reassure herself.
Julien gave a smile, “Good. Now as my representatives you are allowed to stay in my guest house until the day of the Ball. Please don’t fall short of my expectations.”
The pair was led out of the meeting room with a newly panicked Lucy assessing her options. “Great, me and my big mouth. No, it’s going to be fine as long as nothing goes wrong.” An errant glance at Natsu getting ready to fire himself up sent alarms blaring in her head. “Everything is going to go wrong.” Lucy’s mind went into overdrive, she just made a very big promise with a very powerful lady, how was she going to keep it? Then her mind drifted to that offhand remark the Duchess had made to Natsu, “maybe it is time he was taught some self-restraint.”
She quickly beelined over and snatched up Natsu, dragging him to their room. “Hey Lucy, what are you doing?” His confusion was warranted for once as she locked the door behind them.
“Natsu, for the next week, we’ll be training you for the ball.” Lucy declared.
“Training me? I thought you said we weren’t allowed to fight?” He asked, excited that Lucy seemingly changed her mind.
“That’s right. We aren’t allowed to fight which is why you need training, so you don’t start anything during the job.”
“What? This is ridiculous. It’ll be fine.”
“You’re only saying that because you’re already planning to get into a fight!”
“I-I’m not planning anything. I can’t see into the future.” Natsu defended, nervous that he was being easily called out.
She narrowed her eyes, “Then do you actually have a plan to steal the log book?”
“Of course, we just-“
“That doesn’t involve getting into a fight?” She countered.
Lucy had him dead to rights, “Oh come on! It’s not that big of a deal.”
“Fine. If it’s not a big deal, then let’s compromise: You let me train you and we do the job my way. If it doesn’t work, then you can go nuts and kick the duke’s ass and we don’t get paid. Alright?”
It sounded like a good deal to him. Either way he’d be dealing with Lucy’s nagging but at least this way she wouldn’t get really mad at him. “Alright, deal.”
“Perfect. Then let’s get started.” Lucy knew she was in for an uphill battle but, what she thought was a challenge was quickly becoming an impossibility. Natsu was hardly cooperative, sure he followed her around, but he wasn’t really listening much as he should. Dining lessons quickly devolved in hoping he’d spare a mercy on his dishes. Posture faired a bit better but like with him and Erza, it wasn’t really sticking unless he was being scrutinized.
Evening was beginning to roll around and Lucy was already dreading a week of fruitless effort ending in a failed job and no money. It was then that the Duchess deigned to walk by. “Miss Heartfilia, my servants have alerted me to your efforts to tame your companion into thinking with common sense. You have my sympathies.”
Oh great, now the person she was supposed to be helping was feeling bad for her. “I’m so sorry for the commotion, your grace.”
“If I may offer some advice: when dealing with the senseless, common sense is a foreign concept. They’ve never abided by logic, so why would they start? No, the best thing for them is to starve them of their comforts until they will gladly accept your help.” Her voice was cold, but Lucy could read between the lines. Normal training wasn’t going to work on Natsu. He had to be put through the wringer if she was going to make progress.
So today was a bust but it helped showed what wasn’t working or frankly, what she was tired of trying. Turning Natsu into a gentleman was just not going to happen in the time frame she had and was probably just making it harder than some alternative. She had to make the training as difficult as possible if he was going to retain any of the lessons, she threw at him. Which left that alternative: if a gentleman wouldn’t work, then he’d have to be a gentle lady.
Early the next morning, Natsu was awoken with a start by Lucy, “Hmm, Lucy? What do you want?” He groggily asked as he made little effort leave his mess of bed sheets.
“Get up, Natsu. It’s time for your training and we’re going on a trip this time.” She said a little excited as she patted an enormous rolling steamer trunk next to her.
“Where are we going now?” He asked in a daze as Lucy began dragging him out of bed.
“Well, it’s a little far off but it’s perfect for training in all sorts of things.” She replied cryptically as they headed off.
Natsu didn’t immediately clock what she was implying until it was far too late as they passed through the gates to the train station. “Why do we have to take the train? Can’t we just walk?”
“No way, if we just walked then we wouldn’t be able to finish your training in time for the ball.” She quickly corrected. “Don’t worry, it’ll be fine, just get in there.” With a swift kick, Lucy knocked him through the door. The stumbling immediately felt the minor rock of the train car and collapsed into a lump on the floor. Perfect.
“Ughhh, this, better be wor- worth it.” Natsu barely squeaked out.
Lucy nodded confidently following after him, “I think it will be very worth it. Now let’s find our booth.” Lucy had gotten used to moving Natsu in this state as much she did her luggage, maybe Erza was rubbing off on her a bit too much.
Lucy slid open the door to their booth and unloaded her luggage and Natsu onto the floor. It was bigger than she expected but still had a cozy vibe to it. Natsu crawled up to the chair only to realize with horror that it was a drop-down bunk bed built into the wall. “Lucy, why is this, a bed?”
“It’s nice, right? Perfect for the three-day trip!” Lucy snickered as she began unpacking a couple of things from her trunk.
“Three days, ugh, why? Won’t we, miss the ball, if, we’re going so far, away?” Natsu felt even more queasy at the scope of the trip.
Lucy waited for the train to pull away before continuing, “Not a problem, it’s a three-day round trip! We get off where we left. I managed to snag a nice deal since we won’t be getting off the train.”
“What!?” It felt like the room was spinning, falling deeper and deeper into a nightmare. “Why? I don’t, understand.”
“Because this is where you’ll be training of course. Now let’s get you dressed. Open, Gate of the Ram, Aries.” Lucy summoned her other pink haired friend as she began to pull out a variety of woman’s clothing. “Aries, can you help me get Natsu dressed?”
Natsu tried to pick himself up to escape but Aries easily caught him before he could muster. “I’m sorry, Natsu. Please just behave.” Natsu offered vain resistance as the girls got to work dressing him up. Lucy was careful not to coordinate the new outfit with his scarf since she knew how important it was to him.
Natsu found himself in a sapphire blue layered skirt and a white high collared embroidered blouse. His spiky hair was combed back and straight way from face before they carefully rewrapped Igneel’s scarf around his neck. And for the piece de resistance, he was given a pair of white ankle cuff high heels.
“There. I gotta say, when you actually put in the effort, you look pretty good in it, Natsu.” Aries continued to restrain him to make sure he didn’t accidentally mess anything up. Lucy smiled, “But since we’ve managed to get you dressed, I think it’s only fair you get a reward.”
Suddenly, Natsu was surrounded by a pink fluffy cloud and in an instant, he began to relax, his motion sickness passed, and he felt comfortable and refreshed before the cloud disappeared and it all came rushing back.
“You looked happy in there. Aries’ wool is the softest and with her magic it is one of the most relaxing things out there. So, every time you do something successful for your training, you can get a minute in Aries’ wool. Sounds good, right?”
Natsu could feel the excruciating nausea and dizziness returning, he wanted to escape from it quickly as he could it. “Mhm.” He nodded drearily to the applause of the two women.
“Wonderful!” Lucy clapped as she and Aries helped pick him up. “Then let’s get started quickly so you can get another shot.” They escorted him into the hallway where Lucy went about 3 meters down the hall as Aries lent Natsu a shoulder. “Alright for your first task, I want you to walk all the way to me in those heels. It’s okay if you have to lean on the wall, all you have to do is keep standing and if you start to lose balance, Aries will catch you.”
To any other person, this would seem patronizing, like baby’s first steps but even a single step was difficult for Natsu already and Lucy knew this so there was no need to make his first trial especially cruel. If he could, he would have been humiliated being forced to take micro-steps to inch his way along but all he could focus on was how bad he felt on the train. Even the minor jostles were enough to knock him off balance as he clung to the wall for support. Aries, though timid, did follow behind and carefully keep him from loosing his footing as he walked toward her master. After about 5 minutes, he finally reached her, collapsing into her arms. “You did great Natsu.” Lucy assured as she pet his head before, as promised, he was enveloped in the pink wool. What a relief, all the stress and tension from the walk dissolved as he was given his moment of bliss, but it came as easily as it went.
Natsu was given the same task though with five more meters tacked on. Same as before, he accomplished it with great difficulty. Then the trek was 12 meters. Then 15 meters. At 20 meters, Lucy happily chimed, “Wow Natsu, you’re doing great! You did it faster than all your other times.” That was a lie, but it was true he was getting faster, he had built a little bit of confidence in his steps whether he had realized it or not. Natsu showed a faint smile before Aries sent him to his lush oasis.
After his latest refreshment, Lucy added a little twist to her task, “Alright, now this time, no walls and no Aries to help you, you have to walk to me on you own. You’ll start over if you fall.” Lucy knew he could do it, but she needed Natsu to know he could do it too. Aries hadn’t needed to catch him since middle of the 12-meter task and he had progressively been using less and less of the wall for leverage but once he realized he had no safety net, he began to stumble rather quickly. He was feeling frustrated and even a little scared at the idea that he might never complete this task, for the next three days in this torment. But Lucy and Aries kept encouraging him and in the haze of his motion sickness, he could notice he was making progress and with that knowledge, something clicked in his head. Though a little slow, he was managing a steady walk to Lucy. “One foot in front of the other.” He concentrated, unconcerned with the more feminine swing of his body until he reached her.
“You did it Natsu. I’m very proud.” Lucy congratulated him as he wheezed in relief.
Natsu felt satisfied too. Rewarded even. He felt good that he did it. He liked that Lucy praised him. He liked…
Aries conjured an especially comfy wooly bubble for his respite this time as Lucy prepared the next task.
Natsu awoke back in their booth with a large spread of food prepared and seated between them. “Welcome back, Natsu. This next task should be something you like this time. Since we missed breakfast because we left so early this morning, I had the train prepare us a little feast.”
Normally he’d be excited to stuff his face with all the delicious looking food but with the returning queasiness came some reluctance to eat. “I don’t really feel like eating.” He said as his hand instinctually reached for the food.
Lucy gave him a look of gentle concern, “Natsu, I know it’s hard, but you can’t not eat anything for three days.” She moved over to sit next him. “This is perfect though since now we can work on your table manners.” Natsu was in a very pliable state, not even contesting his table manners needed to be worked on. “Don’t worry, I’ll help. Just focus on what I do and try to copy me.”
Lucy had him take a plate with a very meager portion of food, though she made sure to make it seem like it was a lot for him. Then she very slowly started demonstrating how to hold the silverware, cut his food into smaller pieces and even things like chewing and swallowing. Similar to walking, Natsu began eating with great hesitance but did his best to emulate Lucy, each time she’d make small adjustments to his posture or have ease up on the amount of pressure he used. He wasn’t in any condition to enjoy the taste, so all his attention was directed to the techniques his friend was espousing.
Lucy looked at him pleased, finally Natsu was eating food like a normal person instead of just filling his stomach like some wild animal. Once he was finished, he was congratulated and given his relaxation time. As he relaxed, Natsu could feel the food resting in his stomach, “I’m full? Well, Lucy did say it was a lot for me.” He thought before he found himself back in their booth, the food tray retired back to the kitchen.
This time he was all alone save for some clothes and note:
Natsu, for the next task, all you have to do is change out of the clothes you are wearing right now and into the clothes we laid out for you.
<3 ~ Lucy
Lucy stood nervous outside, crossing her fingers hoping that her plan would go well and Natsu wouldn’t damage any of her clothes.
With his mission established, Natsu quickly scrambled to get out of his clothes, but his body wasn’t responding the way he expected. As a side effect of his repeated, consistent use of Aries’ wool, his muscles felt weaker and, in combination with his motion sickness, more strained and tense. Exerting force at all had become exponentially harder, if he did manage to break out of the clothes, he would probably end up pulling something or putting himself through more pain.
No, he had to take it slow and careful, fiddling with and discovering straps, zippers and buckles to clothes he had never really known before until he was completely naked. Then he turned his attention to the clothes prepared for him: each labeled in the order for him to put on like a model set. First, was a pair of panties and a… training bra? He didn’t understand why she laid that out for him but he slipped it on anyways. Next was vibrant orange dress that hung at the back and at his knees in the front, he was a little worried since the torso looked a little small, but it fit his figure perfectly as slipped on the spaghetti straps, then came the short black flower mesh top that clung to his body, it felt tight but not restrictive on him then last was a pair of black stilettos. Once he put them on, strangely felt a bit more relaxed as he stood up to walk toward the door.
Lucy watched as the door opened to reveal had followed her instructions wonderfully. “Wow, Natsu. You look so cute! Oh, here let fix that for you.” Lucy praised as she helped readjust the outfit slightly and set his scarf in a more fashionable position. She felt like she had a little sister for moment, a small smile crossing her lips.
Natsu caught his reflection in the glass, seeing the visage that Lucy was praising so highly… and then Aries gave him his reward.
The task after was the easiest yet, all he had to was sit and let Lucy do his makeup. Lucy talked throughout the entire process giving little compliments about how he looked with this or that blush, or remarking about a lipstick that went well with his skin tone and hair, or saying how proud she was how well-behaved he was being.
After she was done, Natsu got to see the end result. Remarkable what some makeup could do, he could still bits and pieces of the boy he was but that was overshadowed by the girlish mask that Lucy had made for him. The sharpness in his eyes had been buffed out making feel more innocent and fragile, his lips now more revealing the sting of his mood made him more conscious of his smile and even application of skin products and blush was enough to hide his cheeks getting a little rosier.
“What do you think? Do you like it, Natsu?” Aries asked nervously, having been an accomplice in the whole affair, she wasn’t expecting a pleasant answer but due to her nature she felt compelled ask anyways.
He was caught off guard by the question, did he like it? “Um, I…”
“You know what, forget I asked such a stupid question!” She timidly backpedaled before blasting him with her magic.
Natsu’s mind felt a little hazy after waking up, a mix of emotions, knowledge, skills and that damned sick feeling. But when he woke up, he also knew Lucy would have a task for him which helped to keep focused, centered and in control.
“Alright Natsu, your next goal is to go find one of the staff, ask where the bathroom is and come back here.” After seeing his progress so far, it was time to introduce some social training.
Natsu nodded, a little nervous he was going out alone in his attire.
Lucy clocked this and was quick to say, “You’ll be fine. Just remember to be polite: say ‘excuse me’, ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and remember to mind how loudly you speak.”
Natsu left the booth, fretting all the way down the hallway. As long as he took it slow, he could manage to walk through the train relatively normally. Moving past someone proved to be far too difficult so whenever another passenger would be crossing his path, he’d shyly stand and make way for them to pass. He passed through two cars before finally seeing someone of the wait staff moving to check on some guests.
“excuse me…” he whispered overly conscious of speaking too loud thanks to Lucy. With his back turned, the waiter didn’t notice. His breath mustered as he continued an assailment of “excuse me”s at a slowly increasing volume until the man finally took.
“Oh? Pardon me, miss, may I help you with something?” He responded resplendently.
“Um, yes. Could you tell me where the bathroom is please?” He squeaked out in a single breath.
“Certainly, there are bathrooms on cars 2, 4, 7, and 9. Would that be all?”
“Yes, thank you.” Natsu attempted to beat a hasty retreat but only ended up tripping over himself. He thought he was getting some modicum of control but that fall just made him all the dizzier, trying to stand was becoming too hard.
“Miss, are you alright?” The man leaned over to lend a hand.
“N-no, I… I’m really dizzy. I can’t…” He felt so powerless at that moment, he wanted his friends to be here.
“Oh no, then let me help you up.” The man seemed to have little trouble helping him stand and held Natsu’s hand as he began to regain his balance. “Are you feeling better?”
“Y-yes, thank you very much.” He stammered before cautiously walking away.
Natsu reported back to Lucy, feeling a bit safer now that he was back under her supervision before being given his treat. After came lunch where he was once again served rather small portions. Lucy watched intently as she let Natsu eat, giving him tiny corrective instructions regarding his table manners. Natsu did as he was told until he finished his plate, where he was then blasted with magic.
This routine continued for the rest of the day until dinner: clothes, makeup, walking and running small errands for Lucy across the train. By dinner, even with Aries’ magic, Natsu was starting to get a little tired. Lucy, by contrast, was doing her best not to show how exhausted she was after keeping Aries’ out all day and helping Natsu train. But she couldn’t stop now, not when she was seeing results like what was in front of her.
After accidentally serving Natsu a rather large helping of food, Natsu managed to not only eat it rather mindfully but also, he said he was too full to eat anymore by the time he had eaten only half the plate!
“I’m sorry I couldn’t eat everything.” Natsu apologized.
“No, it’s okay, Natsu. It’s my fault for serving you too much in the first place.” Lucy rebutted. “Anyway, it’s getting kind of late. You’ve done amazing in your training so far, so I think you’ve earned a little extra time with Aries’ wool before bed. Enjoy.”
Natsu let the magic wash over him, no matter how many times he’d experienced it, it never seemed to dull. On the contrary, he felt stimulated and sensitive in ways couldn’t really describe. So, so soft.
Lucy let Natsu fall asleep in the wool before she had Aries dismiss it. “Thanks Aries. I know this was a big ask.”
“It’s no problem, Lucy. If I couldn’t take it, I would have dismissed myself earlier. But, I’m more worried about you. Keeping a spirit out all day isn’t exactly easy.”
“Yeah, it’s tough but it will all be worth by the end.” Lucy stretched as she got ready for bed.
“Alright, just be careful. Loki is really worried about you.” Aries reminded as she was dismissed.
Lucy idly looked at Natsu fast asleep: he’d clearly been losing muscle mass, the relaxation quality and repeated exposure to the wool had certainly had an effect. The pink had mixed with hair making it appear longer as well, and something about Natsu’s own magic seemed have mixed with Aries’ too. Dragon Slayer Magic often caused physical alterations in the user and Aries was definitely stimulating that quality in a much different direction, one she could see was perfect for her endeavor.
Natsu’s eyes fluttered awake before crinkling from a minor headache. His motion sickness, the bane of his existence, had lost its edge. It was definitely still there; he still felt a little queasy and that headache wasn’t making things any easier but it that sharpness it had before. Before it was like a knife in the gut, now it like something was weighing down on specific parts of his body trying to wear him down.
“Morning Natsu, did you get a good night’s sleep?” Lucy asked as she got out of bed herself.
“Actually, yeah. It’s a first for me.”
“Great, then let’s keep it going.” Lucy pulled out her key and brought back Aries.
“Morning Aries.” Natsu greeted.
“Oh, good morning, you two.”
“Well, first things first. Natsu, your first task today is getting dressed. I have something special prepared so if you have any problems, just let us know.” Lucy commanded as she pushed Aries outside with her.
Natsu went immediately to check out what he was going to wear. It was a more elaborate looking dress but the thing that stood out was the undergarments he had to put on first: stockings, garters and a bra? The panties were simple enough to slip into, the stockings seemed straightforward… until they weren’t. It seemed like they were meant to go up a lot higher but couldn’t stay up his leg. And the bra was just cumbersome, finding the hook was proving difficult and the bra itself felt a touch too small. He sighed in resignation but then picked himself remembering he could ask for help. Cracking the door, Natsu whispered, “Lucy, Aries, could you help me put this on, please?”
“Sure, Natsu. We can show you how to do it.” Aries helped him set the garters while Lucy guided his hands to help set his bra around his little breasts with Natsu resisting the urge to complain about it being too tight. The girls helped him into heels and dress respectively, Lucy fussily styling his hair a little before showing him his reflection.
He found himself in a long, two-layered purple dress, its outer drapery styled like flowers of cloth were thick and heavy. The dress covered his chest completely, but it was clear he had developed a slight feminine curve. The heels on his feet felt taller, more precarious, but his height hadn’t really changed at all. Lucy’s meddling with his hair gave it a slightly wavy look as it reached the tips of his shoulders.
“Oh, before I forget, Natsu, with your permission, how about we change the color of your scarf?” Lucy asked as she pulled out a small magic tool.
Natsu immediately gave a defensive look, holding his scarf like a security blanket. “Why? What are you going to do to it?”
“Nothing, I promise. All this magic tool does is change the color of whatever clothes you are wearing. It doesn’t hurt the clothes and is only temporary.” She handed it over to him. “It just helps you accessorize better.”
Her reassurance and that fact she asked helped put him at ease enough to mess with the handy gadget. Messing around with color was strange but eventually, he was comfortable enough to leave it at a clear sea blue color.
“There we go. You look great, Natsu.”
“Thanks, Lucy. It looks good… I think?”
“You think?” She prodded, intrigued at how he was feeling.
“Well, I like it but I’m just not very familiar with fashion so, I don’t know if it really looks good.” He admitted a little bashfully.
“Hey, if you like it, then you’re doing something right.” She countered before having Aries blast him.
“So, what are we working on now?”
“Well since you have that new dress, I figured you should get used to moving around in it.”
“It can’t be that different to how the last dress was. It’s just longer.”
“It’s more than just walking this time; we’re going to be starting the more advanced training now.”
Lucy drilled into him all the rituals and routines that came with a fancy dress: how to hold it as you walked, how to perform a curtsy, how to sit down, all the minutia of contorting and comporting oneself in a dress. All of it burned into his body with every dunk into Aries’ wool.
By the end, Natsu could hardly bend in a manner that even came close to being unladylike. He stood perfectly straight, though now he could only at best claim to be as tall as Lucy was when he did so. He lacked the fearsomeness the Dragon Slayer previously could have laid claim to, danger seemed a faraway concept for the person standing before the girls.
“You’re looking great, you’ll be ready for the ball in no time at this rate.”
“Thanks Lucy.” He chirped with a higher voice.
“Yeah, now how about we go to the dining car? We can kill two birds with one stone for lunch.”
“Okay.” The food didn’t really change but the atmosphere definitely felt more sophisticated in comparison to eating in their booth. Naturally, Lucy took the lead while modelling behavior she hoped Natsu would pick up on, such as asking for the waiter’s opinion, table manners and speech, and of course an affection for sweets.
Natsu was attentive enough to follow along, even ordering the same meal as her, though when it came time to order dessert he unfortunately had to pass as he was already full enough from the meal itself. Lucy complied with his request since he asked politely enough, though she was a little disappointed he wouldn’t get to try the train’s parfait.
Natsu was happily escorted back so he could receive his reward from Aries. And like the day before, Natsu was showered with tests for him to conquer and benefit from, but the feeling behind them changed. Day one, Natsu was tested in utter basics, babied until he could do the simplest things on his own. Today he was now definitively a student: inexperienced and in need of guidance but eager and a little curious. And while the ‘stick’ incentive was losing its bite, the ‘carrot’ had worked its magic so thoroughly that it didn’t matter at this point.
Calling Natsu a ‘he’ had been generous at the start of the day and by the end had grown increasingly antiquated. Natsu’s body had been routed from training via magic, corsets and feminine care products that it could now rival Lucy and Erza in terms of form and function. Her breasts had quickly developed, requiring consistent planning of clothing to accommodate both the size and the hourglass figure that followed. Her long hair was unequivocally her’s, parted and framing a sweet and heartfelt smile from her cute little face.
Not a trace of muscle, violence or manhood could be found on her, with her skin looking as soft and delectable as cream, decorated in all the finery and trappings of a beautiful young lady, though of course, the scarf stayed. Her manner also dutifully followed after that model: her poise was demure and defenseless, and her voice was soft and lilting.
She was perfectly cute, perfectly ladylike and perfectly not prepared to steal a book… whoops.
Lucy forgot the reason why she had spent so much effort transforming Natsu in the first place. There was no way this little cutie was up for a sneaky high-class robbery. The despair was starting to set in, another failed job. Luckily, Natsu was there to notice her worries.
“What’s wrong, Lucy?”
“Oh, it’s nothing.” That was clearly not the case. “Just started worrying about how we are going to manage to steal that book from the duke.”
“Actually, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that. I have an idea.”
Lucy looked up to see the fire in Natsu’s eyes, getting a little chuckle. Despite everything, Natsu was still Natsu.

Days passed, preparations and plans were made until the day finally arrived. Like every occasion run by nobility, everything was as extra and ostentatious as it could be. Men and women were dressed to impress, bitter rivals passive aggressively tried to one up each other and the man of the hour, duke Scaralog, had pulled out all the stops to prove he was still a man of class.
But all that hustle and bustle quickly fell silent with the arrival of three guests: a well-dressed young man escorting a pair of beauties with each arm. A tactical entrance before the queen made her appearance. On his right was his master, purposefully abdicating him as she prepared to get the job done.
Lucy was dressed in a long black strapless dress with a silver choker and black heels with pantihose. She had chosen something appropriate but a bit simpler so as to not stand out as much as the star their little plan.

Loki’s partner for the evening meanwhile was fully decked out in her new “battle” attire. Natsu wore an elaborate red and orange backless dress, its colors bending and pooling in it magically like fire itself. A large, ornate gold brooch with a beautiful citrine jewel was set in her bosom to better display both treasures. Thin gold bangles jingled slightly on her wrists, attracting attention to her fiery nail polished fingers. Her hair had been carefully styled: giving her bangs a girlish fringe that guarded a set of braids that trailed to the back of her head and into a bushy little ponytail tied up with a gold bow. Her scarf had been incorporated into a sash around her waist, appearing a bit longer as a result of her shrunken size. The bottom of her dress that fell just to her knees, had a triangle patterned ruffle following the faint geometric pattern of Igneel’s scarf. Her long legs were covered in thin black stocking and set with a pair of tall stilettos that bore the same supernatural hue of the dress. Her face had light touches of makeup, more a formality than an enhancement of her features though it certainly hurt the already lovely persona she now wore. The final touch was a present from the Duchess: a pair of earrings holding her mark, designating Natsu as her representative for the night.
Lucy nonchalantly broke off as the pair was beset by the various party goers either curiously taking a closer look or by those paying respects to the Duchess. It wasn’t long before the duke himself dared to approach, offering Lucy the chance to sneak off and find his log book while he was distracted.
“My, it is a pleasure to have such affine young lady as yourself grace me with your presence.” He said leeringly, those earrings seemingly keeping him from jumping at her.
Natsu politely curtsied, “Lady Julien sends her regards and deep regrets for being unable to attend the ball this evening. Though I am no substitute, I will be serving as the Duchess’ representative for tonight.” She recited perfectly.
“Oh, do not worry, my lady. You are more than a worthy substitute.” He giddily complimented at the expense of the Duchess.
Loki kept himself close to Natsu’s side, as physical reminder to keep a certain someone from trying anything funny. Natsu was handling herself well enough with the other guests but the swift return of Lucy to the ballroom presented another problem. She hadn’t found the log book, which meant that the duke was carrying it personally.
It wasn’t great but they had planned for this. Natsu just had to wait for the Queen to arrive, while the duke was distracted, she could steal the book. So she kept close to him, parrying his lecherous double-speak, waiting for her time to strike. Waiting… and waiting… and… Oh, no.
The Queen wasn’t coming, that one moment she could count on wasn’t coming. Was this a dead end? Were they-
Just then the room shook as massive pillars and structures of ice erupted in the ballroom. Chaos ensued, Natsu saw her chance, using her fire, she snaked a tendril into the duke’s clothes and snatched the biggest thing she could find: the log book! She got it. Loki saw her signal and used the panic to snatch her up in a bridal carry and make a break for it.
“Lucy, I got it!” Natsu cheered as she regrouped with Lucy outside. “That was a great distraction.”
“Well, I don’t deserve all the credit. I did get some last-minute help.” She bashfully admitted as she gestured to the two women standing behind her.
Natsu tried to take a closer look before his eyes went wide, “Gray!?”
