pixel art update

alright , i'm finally done with the mud puppet animations. Boy was this a struggle ! but hopefully i'm getting better at following the programmer's instructions so there'll be less retakes in the future ?

anyways, regarding fenris high, it's likely i won't have much to show in terms of visuals for a couple updates since the programmer has dived in making a scripting interface that will allow him (and me) to better edit things in the game. It's nothing particularly interesting visually but it's for sure something that's needed so please bear with me and the lack of things to show you -

anyways, back to our goopy friend, all i had to do this couple days was finishing his jump animation-

the idle animation for attack A, where it takes a humanoid form

and the attack itself, where the humanoid form is discarded in favor of a big muddy chomp attack

aaand now it's time for what i spent most of my time doing, wich is the defense animation. The programmer wanted the guy to sprout bricks on his chest, so i went with a simple bursting out of the ground animation

but that wasn't what the programmer meant, and the character was way too big anyways so i had to redo the whole thing- i still want to show you since i think the anim is p cool and the mud guy is kinda hot XD

this is the revised animation, the guy is smaller and he has a more fluid motion with the bricks appearing in layers instead of all at once.

anyways, that's it for this week, hope you liked this small peep in my work days. More to follow!

I think you are doing great job, like the animations are great man, but I do understand what you mean about the programmer tastes too. If I could suggest something to this, it would be to aim for a more realistic approach a bit from you when you are making the sprites for his project. Both of your styles are awesome, and there is no doubt about it, but from being a fan of both of you, there is no doubt you both have a different style for your projects. Yours style is much more free-y and cartoony a bit in approach giving you freedom to anatomy sizes, and possibilities, like the first golem buff style, while his though, is being more close to try to be anatomical correct, even with people and/ or creatures that are way bigger in sizes. I think a great source to feel this could be to get some inspiration also from the other games Captain has made, like Bastard Bonds sprites, that has most of his sprites, to get a better feeling all together (if you haven't done already). Hope this was a bit helpful, to atleast inspire some ideas. And again really nice work man ^^
