Patreon devlog update 117: gaming in the '20s

first update for zap & andy after my lil vacation, and i really had fun with this one. !

The first thing i wanted to show you peeps is the place that you have to go through before arriving to the convention area, the in house bar of acheron, called the grinder for obvious reasons. This is where i imagine most of the patreons cameos will show up, so i had to make it p big

 of course i had to animate it a bit to give that lil bit extra it needed.

 this place won't just house patreon cameos but also a couple characters that you'll have to interact with to progress the game, a bartender barfly and a death metal damned who is suspiciously at home in the hell casino, and seem to have taken the bar all for himself. You'll have to get him to go away if you want to use the services of the bartender.

next there's the location that i had most fun with, the arcade! some of the games are very clear references to existing ones, while others are a bit more subtle, but hopefully all will contribute to give the place that good ol darklight arcade feel. Here you'll meet forneus the game shark and you'll have to solve his puzzle to obtain a special spell.

of course i also aniamted the place a bit , mostly the rightmost part, with a damned hypnotized by the game outburn, where you can feel on your skin the real breeze of hell's characteristic ocean of lava.

but i did mention a spell forneus will give you, right? well , the spell in question is -glitch-

it'll allow zap to physically enter any electronic device he uses the spell on. In the case of the arcade cabinets it'll have the effect of embedding him in the game world

and.. well ,he's not here yet but as you can see, endless gore will be a mk parody game- while i'm still waiting for a friend of mine to portray zap , i already did the animations for his opponent, the super kind https://x.com/BuffBullMac

 each game world will have a lil puzzle or a silly (or sexy) interaction for zap , so i'm kinda looking forward animating all these arcade tributes.
