some hero's heart lore and a break

so, since i don't have much to do for the pixel art project this week i thought it'd be nice to show you guys a bit more about the world of vidora, starting with..a world map!

in this map we see the 12 cities that compose the Circle. Technically, each city has one of the gods as its patron, and since i'm sure the map will be too small to see in the post (i'll attach the file at the end of this post don't worry) let me name them and their gods-

Port zero: the coastal city of beginnings, hometown of heroes

Protected by Frederik, god of the sea, father god and god of visions

Firstwell: the city of everflowing water, shrouded in mists and capital of the elves. Protected by Yalia, goddess of medicine, of snakes and art. 

Zweikranze: The city of the blooming desert, with a long tradition of festivals ,theatre and dances.

Protected by Tasali, goddes of seasons, of dance and madness

Tristeria: the mourning city, the rainswept land of lost lovers and poetry.

Once protected by zenion, the god of love,of rituals and the sky.

Shiku: If nine peaks is the heart of vidora, Shiku is for sure its brain,A city famous for its teachers and universities, posseses the largest library in the world.

Protected by Lanza, Goddess of knowledge, of the night and beetles.

Magna murus: The Highest City Where the Walls Reach the Clouds and immaculate shield of the church, where tireless soldiers train day and night to protect nine peaks from any possible invaders.

Protected by Mord, god of war, of hunger and winter.

Hexvale: The city of doors, Home of necromancy and seat of an once great empire now long forgotten. Satyrs once populated this land, but not anymore.

Protected by Ormen, god of death, of sleep and travel.

Settebello: A tropical paradise full of laughter, passion,crime and good wine.Halflings hauls from this fiery island.

Protected by Drom, God of peace, of music and revelries.

Sentay: A city of tall spires ,famous for its miraculous prisons capable of redeeming the worst of criminals.

protected by Karm, god of secrets, of fire, and watcher of the world.

Nine peaks: The Snowswept Peaks seat of the Church’s Power, the templars and those closest to the gods, reside here.

Protected by Honum, metalsmith of the gods, mother goddess and goddess of fury.

Nà lamhan star of progress and technology, and land of the orcish people. Decades , if not centuries ahead of the rest of vidora.

Once protected by Phyxos ,the god of mischief, of schemes and of the sun and the moon, before he grew bored of it and flew to vidora's satellite to do who knows what.

Adhan aldunya The Dwarven Desert Stronghold Oasis , so big and deep that the people at the bottom of it are still digging and expanding it ,and lost contact with their brethren near the surface

Twelvespice: The Rolling Plains of Golden Grain and Commerce

Protected by Cossar, god of wealth, of charity, sacrifice and blood.

I also drew some pictures portraying the gods of vidora, things i've been using in the background of enzo's ship:

Here's an old icon of Cossar, god of wealth , charity , sacrifices and blood. He is often portrayed as a fat man with dark skin and a scorpion tail. 

then we have an portrait of Drom, Mord's twin, the god of peace , of music and revelries. He's mostly portrayed as an anthropomorphic black donkey, and the animal is sacred to him. In some legends he turns particularly worthy heroes who fallen in battled into the beasts, so they can accompany him in his revelries forever. 

and last but not least, we have Mord, the white stallion of war, of hunger and winter. This statue is said to have been ordered by the god himself, and the sculptor that created it went later insane because he was obsessed with it, saying what he created was an insult to the god . The statue apparently wasn't nowhere near how STRONG and MANLY as the god that manifested to him. One thing the poor man is pretty certain about is that the god ordered him to give him the biggest dick of all the vidoran pantheon. Needless to say, the statue, exposed in a chapel of magna murus, is often covered for public decency and to stop the soldiers from making jokes about it and fantasizing about it.
