hey pups! here's some progress that we did during the week! as you can see my good friend banana inquiry has fleshed out the base layout of the accessible part of the first floor. There
are several props missing so it looks a bit empty, but that is literally the next step in our list, fill this place up with stuff to interact with, also at some point i went out of bounds by exiting the school and it's impressive to see the whole place without the walls like this! but don't count on being able to do that in the final release XD

on the graphical side i worked on a couple of things, i did a quick test to see if i could attain a cool transition effect between sprites. Since the exploration parts won't contain too much animation i think this will be useful to liven things up.

next i tackled two more rooms of the main character's friends. The first one i did is ryan's

ryan is quite germophobic and needs his things neat and in order to sleep with some peace
of mind. His bed ,floor and chair are all covered in plastic covers when they're not in use and
all his books are catalogued in alphabetical order. Ryan is quite skilled at playing the violin
and spend some of his free time stargazing with his astronomic telescope. He also has an
ant farm he calls " efficientopia " . creepy.
i also worked on his portrait animations.

next is george's bedroom. He is fascinated by the occult and by folklore. He is a firm believer that there are things that science isn't able to explain and that the people of old understood this and managed to control the invisible forces that escape the logic of the everyday man. He also has a soft spot for drawing and fluffy, soft things. The three plushes in his room are just a fraction of a huge collection he was forced to left behind in scotland.

also worked on his portrait animations of course.

next i started sketching out some ideas for the fights. On the first night you'll have to deal with fatso jones, But that doesn't mean your encounter will be all the same. Each one will be slightly different:

the base encounter will have you face against him in a purely physical battle. pretty straightforward. Ideally his hands would be a good target to strike first since they wouldn't have much hp, and once they're out of the way you can focus on his bulky body with him beeing unable to attack you.

in this encounter jones will use his pheromone and bodily fluid - laced cooking to slow you down. Again, if you don't take care of the food before it releases their pheromone waves you'll be left dazed and open to jones' bite attacks, not to mention you might gain quite a few pounds if you eat them!

also the idea si he'll come at you with different types of food, each one capable of inflicting various debuffs.

if you try to go outside, you'll find out you're not exactly alone. Jones have enthralled an entire squad of pizza delivery boys, turning them into proto-werewolves thralls. Unlike you and your friends they have not been bitten and their transformation will revert as soon as their body process the pheromones they accidentally ingested. Until then, they'll obey every whim of fatso jones tho!

and last but not least this is an encounter that will happen if jones surprises you from behind or if he comes out from somewhere you don't expect. He'll pin you down with his massive weight and you'll have just a few turns to come up with a solution or start feeding directly from fatso jones tap and get knocked out.
