jeez, researching stuff for the time period is a bit of a hassle, but i think it's rather fun! it always gives me ideas and inspires me tbh. All the locations of these comics (except the weird ghost ones) are actual places found in memphis, tennessee. And most of them are pretty famous for their ghost activities! i think i originally decided to set the comic in the city because the sterick buildign is popular for being one of the most haunted places in america, and well, now you know why! XD

fun fact, the orpheum theatre burned down in 1923,and ,in this story, with maskelyne ( paul alexander ) in it. The experience left him heavily burned and deformed, but it's also what boosted his medium talents, making him capable of manifesting a sort of ghostly avatar in the dead world. Maskelyne was 24 when the accident happened, a prodigy who was getting extremely popular as a showman. This means by the time of this story, he spent 18 years in this hospital, and is now 42. His morals have eroded with time as his power has grown. He thinks the world owes him big time, so he feels justified in using the dead for his dirty deeds.

His most recent victim is a nurse called amy grey . Do you remember her? we saw her living shadow in the dead world version of the sterick building, in page 5 and 6 !
