Ada Wong Village Pinup Release

Hey all :)

So, I know this is starting to become a recurring theme... but let me start off by apologizing that things were quiet this month. Don't want to bore you all or anything, but I had to spend the start of the month dealing with a mixture of personal obligations, medical issues, and insurance problems that just left me feeling drained and not very creative. It's very hard for me to "push through" and "be creative" from a place of stress and exhaustion. But regardless of how I'm feeling or how busy things get, I always want to try and put out at least one render per month for you all, as I've previously mentioned. So that brings us to today's release!

No fancy title or flavor text for this particular render; I just really liked the concept and went with it. If you've played RE4R, it's loosely inspired by the rainy village segment in the Separate Ways DLC. I went pretty hard on this one in terms of added details and modified textures to achieve the wet/rainy look; hopefully that kinda makes up a bit for only publishing the one render this month. The two prior renders — the Ada village manor pinup and the Jessie 7th Heaven pinup — were pretty simple overall in terms of added details, so it felt good to really go all out and try to make this render the best possible version of itself that I could achieve. While that's not a practical thing to do for every render from a time management perspective, I'm really glad I took my time on this one.

To that end, this render also has a ton of sculpt work to fix various issues with Ada's clothing. Most notably, Ada's harness by default has a ton of loose straps and floating rivets, and the harness also has to be custom sculpted to fit over her bunched-up shirt top. I don't normally include these types of behind-the-scenes before-and-after comparisons in render releases, but I did here if you want to take a look for yourself! Sculpting such fixes is very tedious and time-consuming, but I think the results speak for themselves.

Aside from all that, you've got your standard offerings here of three post-processing variants (two pictured), with the first version being the "soft" variant and the second version featuring stylized color grading. You'll find the third version, "sharp," in the MEGA archive, which is a slightly sharper version of "soft" that omits some of the subtle post-processing effects. And, as usual, these embedded images are the downscaled half-rez versions, and you can grab the native full-rez versions from the MEGA archive!

In closing, I've still got a few things to wrap up during the remainder of this month, so the next thing you can expect is I'll be publishing a refreshed link for the watermark-free MEGA archive sometime on Monday, July 1st. And then, hopefully, I'll be in a good place mentally to start brainstorming ideas and drafting something at the start of the month.
