So exciting Odd Q with a whole lotta stupid backstory on my part, apologies: Sometimes, when doing certain tasks, I feel like Iโm knocked back/somewhere in time/place/space/world to a different trope-ified self. One โselfโ often conjured is a strong-armed, smart-mouthed, big-hearted tavern maid/linen-clad laundress who I like to think inhabits me whenever I hand sew, make a roast, and especially when I handwash clothes [I donโt have a washer/dryer in unit [sigh] so this is fucking often]. It is so fun and ridiculous to envision her at task and it makes the tasks fly by. So: Is there a period in history/fantasy/imagination where you might envision an alter self, a characterified you? Seems likely weโve had a taste of this with D&D chat, Sir Vigor and, like, Doc, but just a curiosity. Anyway, yโall are cool. Merci beaucoup for sharing!
