HDatL! Or my April Fool's VN!

I had an insane idea this year for April Fools. I'm not fond of the holiday, especially with how social media folks are all "I'm doing X!" but the "joke" is that they're not. So, instead. I said "I'm gonna try to make a visual novel in ONE day! And stream it!" And the joke was- I was serious.

And this game is the result of it! It's already up on Itchio to play and download. But y'all get to see into my thought process a bit. And can look at the art just on it's own if ya want.

As I've bemoaned a few times. I've been overthinking... a lot. I get overwhelmed by big ideas, but am uninterested in small ideas. And, despite this being my job for ten years. I worry about something being... too silly GASP.

So, considering that I set out with the goal to make a VN in a single day. It turned into a fun writing exercise. Cause, I couldn't think and over think. I had to write and fast. I had to write the first thing that came to mind, I had to plow ahead even if it was goofy or ridiculous. Go for the first character designs that popped in my head.

While I wouldn't say the final result was "good" necessarily- it was a ton of fun! Just pure whimsical thirsty chaos. I like to think it loosened me up a bit. Though I'm still working through the overthinking.

Anyway! I've been pleasantly surprised at how well the characters were received- even got asked for the sprites as "reference" for possible fan art. That's exciting! Hopefully, I can keep up some of the momentum making this gave me and get to work on a new project soon!
