Realmwalker's Blade: One-Sided.

Greetings All!

This is an item submitted by Luke Dobbs! I did alter it from a single misty step, and a shortsword gladius to a Scimitar. After a handful of sketches, I thought a Scimitar (something all druids can wield) matched better with the Druid aesthetic described in the pitch, and some added astral themed utility for users.

BALANCE: This was Debated quite a bit, as to what the charge breakdown should be since they all have quite strong applications in specific circumstances.  So there is an alternative version of the charge breakdown, but I feel like the most recent take hit a lovely sweet spot.

• Astral: 1 Charge - Realmwalker: 1 Charge - Shifting Slash: 2 Charges. - Which makes for some fun lower level play, but it tends to get out very powerful/mobility silly in later levels.
• Astral: 1 Charge - Realmwalker: 2 Charges - Shifting Slash: 3 Charges. - While it makes for better balanced encounters, it is somewhat ability starved until higher levels.

Thoughts are very welcome especially on which version is the most balanced/appetizing, and if you have an idea you want to see submit it for next month! The form is in the Link Tree, Here, and the Stories.

Updates: A number, listed below.

• Art: Spun the energy vapors to match the tilt of the blade.
• Astral: Reduced back to the original 1 Minute duration.
• Slash: This one is bouncing between 2-3 Charges, until the next balancing pass you can use your best judgment. I left it up as an Alt, and added in that Legendary Creatures are likely immune.

Description:

This is a storied yet lost blade once carried by an ancient druid in their travels throughout the planes. Upon closer inspection, this curved blade appears to be grown or growing. It holds a healthy series of roots that wrap about a gem pommel, and the only metal contained is a bronze crossguard which the blade seems to have grown through. It is clear that at some point it began to absorb the saturating energies of the many planes and what lies between, allowing its wielder access to small displays of a weapon that Walked the Realms.

Tabs:

• This blade holds charges equivalent to the User’s Proficiency Bonus and can use them in the following ways. It regains all expended charges daily at Dawn.
• Astral Energy: 1 Charge, as a Bonus Action, the weapon deals an extra 1d6 Force damage for 1 Minute.
• Realmwalk: 2 Charges - As a Bonus Action, the user can cast the Misty Step spell with energy from the blade.
• Shifting Slash: 2 Charges - As part of an Attack Action, when the user hits a Large or Smaller creature with a melee attack from this weapon. This blow deals an additional 1d6 Force Damage, and the user can Teleport the target to an unoccupied space within 30ft that the user can see. Some creatures are Immune to this effect, such as those with Legendary Actions or at GM Discretion.
