レイカ2-6話は私服回。

いつも圧倒的な視線で見下ろしてくる彼女が可愛い姿で頑張る話です。

最近調子が出て来たのか作画のクオリティが少し向上してきた気がします。

さて。

先日コアマガジン本社にて編集さんと打ち合わせをしてきました。

高田馬場にあるコアマガビル。

編集部は昔懐かしの「ザ・編集部」といったゴチャゴチャっとした感じで、

昨今のデジタル出版社に良くあるオシャンティーな編集部とは一線を画します。

打ち合わせも会議室とかじゃなく隅っこの一角、窓際の狭い場所にある小さなソファだし。

お世辞にも綺麗とは言えないが、気楽に話せるので僕はこの雰囲気嫌いじゃない。

エロ漫画家の打ち合わせは割と漫画家の自宅近くの喫茶店とかだったりするので、編集部に立派なスペースは不要なのかも。

担当編集と仕事で最後に会ったのはレイカさんのフィギュアの原型チェックの時なので、確か2017年の11月頃。

おぉ…もう六年近く前か。

赤ん坊が小学校へ入るくらいだから相当だ。

漫画執筆の中身についての打ち合わせとなるとさらに前へ遡ります。

要するにほとんど会いません。

漫画は編集者と密に打ち合わせを行い、プロットをチェックされてダメ出しをくらい、ネームをチェックされてつっかえされ、下書きをチェックされて修正をし…

というような流れで進めるんだと語る人がいますが

そうでもない。

僕は編集者との関係性は超希薄です。

ネームで止まらないタイプの作家だからかな。

ネームのダメ出しで苦労して疲弊することがないのでそれは大いに結構なのですが、雑誌自体の人気とか、作品の反応は編集しか知らないので、僕みたいに関係が薄くなりすぎるのも考えものです。

して、打ち合わせにて作品の反響と今後について確認をとって来たのですが、まず僕が思っていた以上に作品のキャラクター目当てで読んでくれてる読者が多い。

要はレイカさん目当てで読んでくれてる人が多いということ。

普通じゃんと思うかもしれないけどこれエロ漫画ですから。

エロ漫画は基本エロ目的、ヌキ目的です。

キャラ目的で読んでもらえるのは作者としては嬉しい限り。

だからなのか、いちゃラブ回の反響がすごかった。

レイカさんといちゃいちゃしたい、という意見がたくさん。

「このシリーズでいちゃラブってどうなの？やっぱSプレイがないと読者のちんちんが満足しないんじゃ…」ということを少し心配してたんですが、そんなことは無かった。

あと面白かったのは、読者からの感想の文面に書かれたキャラの固有名詞が100%

「レイカさん」

であるという事実。

「ヒロインが」とか「レイカが」とかじゃないんですよ。

100%だよ？愛されてるなぁ彼女。

その事実を見て、僕はこの作品が前作で到達できなかった正しいハッピーエンドへ向かえるなと確信しました。

次に話したのは残り話数について。

聞くところによると、現在の作品人気と前作の単行本発行部数を考えると、僕が望むなら2巻へ続けていくことは問題なくOKだそう。

ただし、続巻は1巻に比べて確実に発行部数が半減するという大きなデメリットがあります。

そういう現実的な部分を確認した上で、「じゃぁエロ漫画で物語とかキャラのバックボーンとかどれだけ語るべきか？」という感覚的な議論を交わし…

結論として、やはり1巻で一度しっかり区切ろう、という方向性で固まりました。

一度単行本を出して、まだやりたいないと感じたならまたその時考えれば良いわけだし。

というわけで、以前ちらりと話題にしましたが「レイカは華麗な僕の女王」も残りは3話。

ちなみに最終話の掲載号は表紙の執筆も任されておりますw

彼女を「レイカさん」と慕ってくれる読者の皆さんが満足できるようなオチへ向かって描いていきますよ〜

The editorial office of Core Magazine, located in Takadanobaba, has an atmosphere that can be described as classic, and is distinctly different from the fashionable editorial offices that are in vogue these days.

It is not a flattering environment, but I do not dislike this place because I can talk with ease.

Surprisingly, erotic manga artists' meetings are often held at a coffee shop near the manga artist's home, so perhaps there is no need for a splendid space in the editorial office.

It's been almost six years since I last met with my contact person at work.

That was a meeting to confirm the Reika doll.

The meeting about the content of the manga goes back even further.

In short, I have hardly met him.

Some people say that a manga is created in close contact with the person in charge, but this is not always the case.

I am the type of artist who does not have a hard time in the creation of my work, so I tend to do so.

It is good that I don't have to suffer from disagreements, but it is also not good to have too few meetings, since it is the person in charge who directly knows the popularity of the work.

At this meeting, we held hearings on the response to the work and future serialization.

I learned that many more readers are reading this work for the character of Reika than I had imagined.

Therefore, the response to the pure love story was very strong.

Everyone wants to make out with Reika.

I was worried about whether there would be demand for a pure love story in this series, but my fears were unfounded.

What I personally found very interesting was that the proper name for Reika in the readers' comments was not Reika, but Reika-san.

That's what all the readers who gave me feedback called her.

All of them, you know?

Normally, they would call her "that heroine" or "Reika".

She is loved.

I was convinced that this story could have the right happy ending.

Next we discussed the number of serials remaining.

The person in charge explained that based on the current popularity and sales of the previous work, this work could continue as is if I wanted it to.

However, unless there is a major irregularity, the sales of the second volume will be halved compared to the first volume.

This is the fate of commercial works and cannot be avoided.

After confirming these practical aspects, we discussed the extent to which the setting should be discussed within the constraints of an erotic manga.

In conclusion, we decided to end this work firmly in one volume.

We thought that if, after publishing the first volume, i still wanted to continue the story, i could consider it again at that time.

As such, there are only three more installments of "Reika is a my Splendid Queen" left.

Incidentally, I have been assigned to write the cover story for the issue in which the final story will be published.

I will do my best to produce an ending that will satisfy all the readers who adore Reika.
