I am completely on the same page as you Alley. I cried so hard after watching that scene & it literally put me in a low place emotionally. I think I took like a 3 month break from going back to the show cause I dreaded where it was going so badly 😰 so you are not alone in how you felt 🫂

2025-03-11 01:31:09 +0000 UTCIf they're in the main cast/credited cast, they get paid. But they also get paid for the actual episodes they are in or for days of work. So they still get paid for being credited cast, but the show makers can cut the budget by only having them in fewer episodes. They could save more money by not making them credited cast to begin with, but that would also leave the actor to be able to quit the show at any time and do something else. Being credited binds them. So in the end it's more like bonuses for being credited, while still making more money for each episode. So for example Duncan's actor was getting some money even after they cut him from the remaining episodes of the season, because he was still in the credits. But he was making more money while he was actually in the episodes.

So they planned for the Hearst Rist storyline to be solved at this point. Which I think for a story like that works better. And they've been dropping the story piece by piece from way back. The prison experiment and Horschach doing his warden that harrassed him's homework is a tip to Moe having done the same experiment with Mercer as a prison guard, and doing his bidding. Moe mentioned early on that he had done the experiment and it was "Life changing". Him calling Mercer 'sir' and Mercer referring ot Moe as "prisoner" during stress.

2025-03-09 23:19:07 +0000 UTCI was indifferent towards Piz, but he won my heart in episode 9 when he did his little dance at the Pi Sig party. Mac is so real for wanting to go see 2001 in 70mm. Watching that version for the 50th anniversary has to be my favorite theater experience.

2025-03-09 21:27:31 +0000 UTCThe cigar smoking man in the dean's office was also the vampire Kakistos in Faith, Hope and Trick on Buffy. The unicorns in the dorm room is giving Harmony's lair. And V stabbing Mercer with a unicorn is giving Buffy staking a vamp with one of Harmony's unicorns.
