This skit is amazing. Please watch it and react to it before the next Twin Peaks episode!

Kyle in Twin Peks: "But I guess you could say that about most anything in life: It's not so bad as long as you can keep the fear from your mind."
Kyle in Dune: ""I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Alley, I’m still catching up on your twin peaks reactions but wanted to share with you something that I think is pretty great. Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Cooper) hosted SNL between season 1 and season 2 and they did a hilarious parody of the show. Here is the link, it’s worth checking out. It’s pretty funny. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7o2ca

You're right about the reaction at the time - people watched the show and said "What the hell was that?" and then had to wait a week for the next episode. In that week, they'd obsess on the show and come up with batshit theories.
It's wild that this kind of continuing arc-based TV was only seen on soap operas before Twin Peaks, and this show is so crazy it became clear the normal rules didn't apply and nobody knew what was going to happen next.
As an aside, you may appreciate the "there are two types of stoners" meme taken from this episode - https://stanleykubricks.tumblr.com/post/694613431723196416/there-are-two-types-of-stoners
