Deadline was missed^^
But we haven’t been slacking during this time. Since our last vote, we’ve been working hard to bring our vision to life. There have been some back-and-forth discussions—debating within the team, consulting outside experts, and exploring ways to preserve elements of our previous turn-based gameplay while considering alternative designs. Ultimately, we’ve decided to move forward with a new approach.
This wasn’t an easy decision. As you know, it took me years to develop the previous turn-based system with its hexagonal map. However, this new direction offers more benefits than drawbacks, and I believe it’s the right choice.
First, the game will incorporate roguelike elements. Second, instead of turn-based gameplay, we’re adopting a procedurally generated, node-based system inspired by Slay the Spire. This means we’re moving away from the hexagonal map.
The advantages are clear: the game will be more user-friendly and even more enjoyable (if balanced properly). We’ll also be able to offer crazier and more creative powers as rewards without worrying about accumulation issues.
Release Date
We’re aiming to release a version before Christmas. However, please note that it will be a work-in-progress, as there isn’t enough time to fully complete the experience given this new direction.
