2026-02-18 00:41:44 +0000 UTCI'm going to go against the grain with this but I don't really like Yolanda anymore I used to like her a lot but that was before she started doing a lot of tricks and manipulation of Brock and everything and that kind of really took me out of liking her character because we don't like her mom for those very same reasons those are very same reasons why she doesn't like her mom as well she's doing the exact same thing it's just we're supposed to accept it from her because she's cute see and supposed to be on Brock's side. This reminds me of the whole situation we were having before where I would point out like you seem to somewhere along the lines of writing the story fall into blatantly just giving more a care and attention and development to the female characters I mean help we just heard about AJ who was supposed to be another one of Brock's understudies and he just left but we hadn't seen or heard from him since he got his circus back like if anybody should have been leaving off like a rocket to go over the warring Nations situation it should have been AJ right there with Ash hell they probably should have been button heads doing it together. Me personally I kind of don't like this is cutting into the Brock story like I love the interlude chapters I especially loved whenever we got those you know into the chapters with the Pokemon but usually when you did that you broke it up into we got two chapters of hard enough and then later on we would get like that small interlude chapter. I'm not saying I'm against Yolanda getting a feature chapter because I'll think of it like an interview chapter but the same time I don't want her taking Brock's place like I'm here for the Brock story I don't think like other people seem to in these comments that Brock story has become stale or it's over to me Brock story is not over to me until like either he's old or old man or he's become the champion who beats everyone at the master tournament that lance was talking about after him and Brock had their first clash. Personally I truly don't really see your actual into the story because Pokemon is never going to be over there's always going to be a new region and new Pokemon so really the only way I see the story and the hard enough world actually ending is when you the author get sick of it.

Now that Yolanda goes on her journey it could be a full on journey fic, and if the main story is always in front of it in the timeline you will know how and where changes in the main story affect her.

2026-02-17 11:48:28 +0000 UTCI enjoy the interludes, as they are always great to see the rest of the world, and the result of Brock's actions, fleshed out in further detail. I also enjoy the character development of the kids, as they develop their strengths and become more well rounded and more complete versions of themself, often through the guidance and wisdom of Brock. Yolanda's adventures will be the best of both worlds.

2026-02-17 02:23:01 +0000 UTCThis is fun! I'd love to dip in and out of Yolanda's story to see how Brock's actions over the past season have changed Kanto, and also what it looks like post surge. That said, I definitely still prefer getting Brock's story, as part of what drew me to Hard Enough is that it's not a journey story, it's about the coalition and society building. Like my favorite parts are when Brock checks in on his trainers, or we get a short arc about some kid in his gym.
