So one thing I was curious about is the Kaguya member's bone manipulation powers, isn't that supposed to be a rare kekkei genkai? It seems like every Kaguya member has those powers and it would be nice to see it mentioned from the MC's perspective if it's different from canon (but I could be wrong about the kekkei genkai being 'rare' since it may be entirely fanon)

Its possible that she could be more open to revealing some Terumi jutsu to Matsu whose chakra sense may be good to help guide her.

2024-10-25 21:35:51 +0000 UTCI have to hand it to Gengetsu, the mudanin system could use some work, but it is ingenious conceptually for a military dictatorship. Since the alternative was just killing them off (which was just a waste of personnel) it is a preferred alternative. Align some incentives for the teachers to get the 'mundanin' up to par, and you have the basis for a highly effective system that forces even your cadets to put in the absolute maximum effort when training in the academy. It's for sure evil, but I could see how it works. Like military hazing / group punishment, it's morally concerning, but psychologically sound for getting results.

The interplay between the... straightforward, let's call it, midori and her mother picking up the subtleties around her situation and being fearful but cautiously hopefully is just fantastically done. Also, all the little details show how much her mother loves her - cooking her favorite foods, sleeping closer to her, brushing her hair. It's just a beautifully described scene with a lot of depth.
