This month marks a significant transformation for me as I’ve taken the bold step of cutting my hair bald. While I don’t practice the spiritual or cultural traditions often associated with shaving one’s head, I find it fascinating how, across various cultures, cutting hair is seen as a powerful act of renewal, liberation, and even spiritual cleansing. For me, this is a personal decision, a symbol of starting anew, shedding old layers, and embracing the person I’m becoming.
Alongside this change, I’ve embarked on a new artistic project that I plan to revisit annually. This year, I covered my body in paint and laid on a large sheet of paper, creating an abstract, intimate representation of myself. This isn’t just a painting; it’s a snapshot of who I am at this moment in time. Each year, I’ll repeat this process, letting my body’s impressions on the canvas tell the story of my journey, growth, and changes over the years. It’s a way of visually capturing my evolution—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
