Harddrives Suck
Added 2018-01-15 20:19:16 +0000 UTCSo I've been delaying posting this because, frankly, its infuriating. One of the drives where I kept DAZ assets died. The short version is: This is not a comic-killing disaster, and there will be an update in the near future.
The long version is...
I keep assets on multiple drives due to not having enough space on my SSD. Basically everything that wasn't on my SSD is gone, which means I lost entire characters (including Lily). This means I will need to reconstruct these characters from scratch. The silver lining is I can update the character models to Genesis 3 which I have more clothing and morphs for at this point, so technically this could be seen as an upgrade.
However, many other assets have had to be redownloaded and, more tediously, "rereferenced". This means any scenes that used assets that I lost throw a bunch of errors and the only way to fix them is to tell the scene file where the new asset is (since the entire drive it was on is gone).
Obviously dealing with this has put a dent in my ability to deliver the comic on time. THAT SAID, I'm halfway through the renders on part 8 and am making a great deal of progress (half of those are just from the last 24 hours). I've moved the scenes that included Lily to the next chapter and so chapter 8 will now focus exclusively on Tonya.
I'm working as fast as I can, give me at least a few more days and I should have the first half of chapter 8 ready. Yes you read that right, the first 'half' will be around ~60 pages. The second half of chapter 8 will add another ~60 pages. It's a big one... in a lot of ways, as you'll see.
