Scope Creep
Added 2021-09-08 19:37:29 +0000 UTCFor those that don't know, Scope Creep refers to how a project's requirements tend to increase over a project lifecycle. Sometimes it is far too easy to fall into that trap, which is why I generally try to follow my development plan, but ideas kept occurring to me that I felt would fit into this release really well.
I started with a list of seven or eight things that I was going to put into this build, and it turned out ballooning to fifteen or sixteen. Several of them are necessary to complete various important aspects of the game, while others are just another added scene to enhance the game.
The result being that I'm mired in several half finished sequences that need to be completed in order for the next build to be able to be released.
I'm considering releasing a "pre release" build that while incomplete will give a taste of what is included but with the understanding that it's incomplete and probably has bugs in it

Four words…Easier said than done. I kept hitting a wall that made me ask “how do I work this in in a way that makes sense?” So I had to add something else and then I needed another thing after that then another and another. Instead of creeping it more snowballed. LOL

2021-09-09 04:35:25 +0000 UTCI heard about feature creep and guessed the existence of content creep, but scope creep? Pre release now or full release later, both those options are fine with me. My suggestion for the future would be "stick to your development plan, if you get ideas, implement them in the next build, not in the build you are currently working on".
