What went by and what's coming - Komadori Weekly #4

Hello everyone!

March has arrived, and with it, the promise of warmer days and new beginnings. We hope this message finds you well and that you're enjoying the change of seasons as much as we are.

Steam Next Fest Recap

We're thrilled to welcome many new Patrons who joined us after playing the demo during Steam Next Fest. Thank you all for your support and for taking the time to play Komadori Inn! As a small studio with virtually no marketing, we're incredibly proud that Komadori Inn consistently ranked in the top 15-20% of games in terms of player numbers.

The positive comments and valuable feedback we received have been overwhelming, and we're grateful for each one of you. While we shouldn't compare ourselves to other studios, we can compare ourselves to our past efforts. Two years ago, we participated in Next Fest with "Long and Hard... Summer!" and added 1,599 new wishlists throughout the event. This year, despite a significantly larger number of participating games, we doubled that number, with 3,513 people adding Komadori Inn to their wishlists. We can confidently say that we've achieved great success!

What's Next in Version 0.4.6?

The past few weeks have been incredibly busy. First, we put a lot of effort into finalizing version 0.4.5, and then I rushed to complete the new trailer before Next Fest (which, as you can see, was worth it!). I took some time to rest and recharge last week, but now we're back at full speed, working on version 0.4.6.

Our goal is to finally focus on releasing smaller, more frequent updates. The next version will center around quest 012, which will kick off Tsubame's storyline. You'll get to know her better and earn your first skill point with her. At the top of the post is a sketch from a scene in this quest.

Additionally, you'll finally get to explore the nearby forest, so expect a new map as well.

Go ahead, try to guess why you'll have to jump over that gap. Because you'll have to jump it.

Work on the room-cleaning mini-game is progressing, but we're waiting on the final graphics, so it will likely be released in version 0.4.7. Stay tuned!

Request for Thai-Speaking Players

We've received feedback that the Thai translation in the demo version is of poor quality. Currently, most texts are machine-translated, but the demo version was fully translated by a human. Since we can't assess the quality ourselves, we would appreciate it if our Thai-speaking players could confirm if the translation is indeed poor. If you'd like to help us, attached to this post is a file containing dialogues from the first day of the game. Just let us know if the translation is good or bad!

We've also received comments about the readability of the Thai font, so let us know if you're experiencing issues with that as well.

Thank you all for your continued support and for being a part of this journey with us. We're excited to bring you more updates and improvements in the coming weeks.

Best, Macamagucha
