Hello everyone!
We wanted to give you an update on where things stand with the next version of Komadori Inn. Let’s dive into what’s happening behind the scenes, what’s on the horizon, and why it’s taking a little longer than we initially hoped.
Spoiler-Free Zone
Yesterday, we ran a quick poll on our Discord Patron channel about whether future posts should include story spoilers. The overwhelming response was “no spoilers, please”, so we’re respecting that! This means our updates will give you an idea of what’s coming without revealing too much about the twists and turns in the story.

However, this approach makes writing this post a little trickier, because the heart of the upcoming update revolves around three major events that will deeply impact the journey of every character in the game. Without spoiling anything, we can say these events are game-changers—setting up key relationships, dynamics, and mysteries for the future.
Why There’s No Update Yet
We had high hopes of releasing the update this week, but as we worked through the content, we uncovered much more that needed fine-tuning than we’d anticipated. This isn’t uncommon when we’re building something as interconnected as Komadori Inn, but it does mean we need a bit more time to get things just right.
One example is the room-cleaning minigame, which we’d planned to include in this update. After initial testing, we found it wasn’t as fun or engaging as we wanted. Instead of rushing it out, Mugenji is reworking the mechanics to ensure it adds value to the gameplay. As much as we hate delaying features, we think it’s better to release something polished and enjoyable than something half-baked.
What You Can Expect in the Next Version
Even without the minigame, the upcoming update is shaping up to be one of our biggest yet. Here’s a spoiler-free look at what’s coming:
THREE New Characters: The next version will introduce three new faces to the inn, though one of them will only stick around briefly. And no, none of them are Chika, who we teased earlier! However, if you’ve been paying close attention to the development of Komadori Inn, you might just be able to guess the identity of one of these new characters. Their arrival is something we’ve been building toward for a while, and we’re excited to finally bring them into the story. These characters are central to the big events in the update, and their designs required new pixel art, portraits, and animations—something we initially overlooked in the planning phase.
New Quest & THREE Beginnings: The update will include one fully playable new quest and the start of three more quests, each laying the groundwork for exciting future content.
TWO New Animated Scenes: There will be two fully animated scenes, one of which, the one we asked in the giveaway, you can watch with the link below (without spoilers, of course). This particular scene at... let’s just say a very “intense” encounter under a desk.

And the next animation will be uploaded soon too!
Why Not Release Fixes Separately?
Some of you are waiting for a couple of bugs to be removed and might wonder why we don’t release a smaller patch with just fixes in the meantime. The truth is, as it happened in the past, the game is at a stage where hiding the incomplete content we’ve been working on would take significant effort. Instead, we’re focusing on finishing everything that’s in progress to ensure the update feels cohesive and polished when it finally goes live.
Closing Remarks
Thank you all for your patience, feedback, and constant support. We know the wait can be frustrating, but we’re committed to delivering an update that’s worth it. We’re already working hard on the final pieces, and we’ll keep you posted as we get closer to the finish line.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Stay tuned for more news soon—and as always, we couldn’t do this without you!
P.S
There's actually a little mistake in the video - closer to the end are two dialogue lines that should be said by the MC and are labeled differently 😅
