what hit me the hardest was the fact that gabi and falco are basically the only truly blameless cogs in this war machine yet where the ones who owned up to their part to play in it all, it just hit me right in the feels

2024-05-18 18:44:55 +0000 UTCWell said, I didnβt even make that connection with Falcoβs parents as restorationist but heβs intrinsically open minded and pragmatic. Gabi had clues in-front of her face about the nuances of life, yet still she was unable to discern situations with sensibility and prudence.

2024-05-18 17:35:10 +0000 UTCi was just like Kiss, to hate Gabi to love her.

2024-05-18 06:29:22 +0000 UTCIts all so good but I especially love Zeke's music. I cannot wait until next week! And maybe I've been too hard on Gabi in previous comments. I still think she was far too gullible and hateful before, but she really has grown so much since coming to Paradis.

2024-05-18 05:08:47 +0000 UTCYellen's face is one of disgust because she thought Armin was actually moved by her earlier speech. She thought he was "true believer". However Armin's choice of words, "We have no choice..." inadvertently revealed that he was just pretending to be moved by her words.

2024-05-17 22:05:26 +0000 UTCRemember when Armin began to cry and said that he was moved, after Yelena revealed the euthanization plan? He did this in order to trick Yelena into thinking he was on their side. On the roof, after they were freed he said "even if we don't agree with the yeagerists, we need to help Eren", which revealed to her that he was lying about agreeing with the euthanization plan. That's why she made this disgusted face.

2024-05-17 20:51:55 +0000 UTCFalco didnt need much convincing partly because his parents were restorationists like Zeke so he recognised that there was more than one side. Falco also spent a lot of time with both Eren and Reiner, experiencing their conversation in ep5. But you're not wrong either, Falco is less hotheaded and aggressive than Gabi by nature.

2024-05-17 20:41:17 +0000 UTCWhat a great reaction and analysis, the empathy shown and all the clever points you both made were so rewarding to watch this episode. Haylo, I completely agree that not just the music, but the selection and placement of it, is masterful and adds so much value and emotion to the experience of watching. The opening sequence with the "Fall of Paradis" OST including Reiner's lines about suffering hit so hard and really set the tone for the entire episode. Somber, heavy, and slightly hopeful, all great words you both used to describe this. It was a pleasure to hear the discussion about Gabi's growth as a character. Especially Kiss, you've come a long way since "THROW THIS CHILD OUT" right after Gabi killed Sasha (kidding, I totally get that reaction regardless if you meant those words or not hahaha xD). Props to noticing the bird cage symbolism and also pointing out the differences between Falco and Gabi playing into the nature vs. nurture theme; I think one of the many reasons this show is so heavy is because it's so realistic with human psychology. Despite essentially coming from the same environment, it makes total sense that Gabi and Falco would start out so different based on many factors like desire for praise, personality, etc. Also, the reaction to the Yelena face was priceless hahaaha. I think you guys figured out the exact reason for it in the post-episode discussion; she realized Armin "crying" upon learning the Euthanasia Plan was an act when overhearing his words to the others of how they've got no choice but to help Zeke and the Jaegerists now.

2024-05-17 18:57:10 +0000 UTCYelena was revolted and vexed at Armin's deception when he fake cried and pretended to side with her view point. A lot of people were confused on why she made that appalling facial expression.

2024-05-17 18:01:44 +0000 UTCI discovered your channel last month and immediately joined your patreon to watch your AOT reactions. This past semester was an incredibly stressful time for me but your videos were the perfect reward to end the day and decompress after hours of studying. You two are so intelligent and wholesome, and your reactions and commentary on each episode have been such a joy to watch. I can't wait for your reactions to PEAK next week and the rest of this incredible series β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

2024-05-17 16:41:41 +0000 UTCGabi realising or more like, admitting she was wrong the whole time, was such a nice moment. Also, Falco, god bless him lol I love him Yelena is scary af!

2024-05-17 15:51:41 +0000 UTCYou're totally right about the music. I used to just watch most shows on my TV, but I bought a decent pair of headphones and the difference is amazing; it really brings out the emotions in this show, and Hiroyuki Sawano done a fantastic job with composition. At times it's hopeful, at times it's beautiful but no matter what it always hits the right tone for whatever part of the show you're on.

2024-05-17 14:40:18 +0000 UTCYou two immediately caught onto the significance of the bird cages during that scene, and that the only one that was damaged with its door open was shown during very specific lines of dialogue. Yβall have to watch Korotos Mystery Shackβs Overanalyzing AoT when you finish the series. Also, on behalf of the AoT community, youβre welcome for the Yelena face nightmares membership. It canβt be unseen. It canβt be forgotten
