6 Photoshop Brush Sets

Attached below is big .abr file with all 6 of my brush sets for 2024 so far. I'm sorry they are so late, I have been putting this post off for a loooooong time...

I made these 6 sets and meant to post them several months ago, but then Adobe Photoshop BETRAYED the art community by taking our work without our consent, attempting to replace us with generative AI trained off our work, and trapping us in an unethical subscription model that we can't cancel.

I had hoped that by now, Photoshop would have either A. Cleaned up its act on its own to correct these issues, B. been forced to clean up its act by the government to correct these issues, or C. I would have switched to a more ethical software platform for any digital artwork.

Unfortunately, Adobe remains thus far ethically unchanged, and I have not had the time to commit to learning to any new software platform yet. (Largely this is because I have been having fun painting traditionally for the past few months.) So I have had to dust it off and use it again this month. And I figured that while I am here working in the program it is probably a good time to get this set out to you.

There are a LOT of texture brushes in there, as well as some interesting brushwork tools. A lot of them were developed to achieve the kind of surface textures you see in the image below.

And what about the Martian series? Is it DEAD? No. I just lost the love for working digitally in my spare time, and have been focused on doing my concept work for it in pencil for the last little while. I do not recommend Photoshop at the moment, and I really encourage anyone getting started to check out Procreate. A much more ethical company that I myself am hoping to slowly transition to over the next year or so. Until then, if you are stuck in Photoshop like me, enjoy these brush sets. Let's hope that better is on the horizon for digital artists.

Thanks Nessie! I love Procreate and am a big fan of their CEO's hardline stance on AI. I would have already switched over if they had a desktop version. I do need the bigger file sizes, and that has been a deal-breaker for me. But I hear good things about them releasing those things in the future, so fingers crossed!

If you're ok working w/ smaller file sizes, procreate is a FANTASTIC art program! Only $10, anti-AI (CEO loathes it), CMYK/RGB color profiles, layer effects & yes, it can import ABR brushes (been importing your brushes into my own copy). If you can invest in an ipad, PLEASE consider getting it if you haven't already
