"The Ifriline Firecat" Monster of the Month for February 2023

Had so much fun working on the expression for this one. Cats have such great, evil faces!
This character was originally designed as an alternate version of our LETSDRAWMONSTERS firecat. I loved both takes on the idea, and could decide which version of the character I preferred. Make it anthropromorphic, or the giant Manticore? So I did both.
I have no process guide this month for the Ifriline Firecat because the process was a complete mess that sprawled out over several months. (And would probably only serve to confuse anyone who might actually look at it) I have been working on this one off and on since making the above firecat illustration. I just really liked the initial tiny sketch:
I't only a horrible little scribble, but it feels really nice to me and I always wanted to turn it into something more. I hope we did it justice here.
Next month we will be back to the Martian series with some updates on what's been happening there plus some of the new martian creatures we've been making.
So what about the Monster of the Month story updates? Those are still coming, but are still probably several months away. I'm having a lot of fun with it right now and don't want to rush anything, but I haven't forgotten about it! I am really excited to share with you when it is ready.
