GLOBSTERS : The Martian of the Month

Today, I FINALLY have a proper Martian of the Month post for you! (It's a return to the good ol' days when I actually stayed on target month to month!) To make up for it, I have a triple-feature this month with Menial Globster, The Titan Globster, and The Globsting. In the game world, these would be seen alone, or as part of their hunting party group:

I love making these little maniacs. Looking forward to battling them! On a technical level, they are stylistically a bit different than the creatures from my monster-of-the-month series. They are more comic in nature with brighter color arrangements and broader ink outlines, which is working much better within the digital game format with all its wild parallax chaos. It's been a journey to find the right style to render these in, that both fits with our time constraints and looks good in the game.

Speaking of which, I will be talking more about this journey on the martian of the month project thus far in this month's tutorial post, which will be available in a few days. It is a progress report and will also feature some new concept art that I have been looking forward to sharing with you:
