The following is a selection of artwork that I recently completed for the ongoing Faerie Queene project. I hope you enjoy them!

Here is my rough thumbnails for this one. They are extremely simple and straight-forward, (I won't show the previously batch, because they are actually unrecognizable as marks made by a thinking creature) But hopefully they are helpful in understanding where these often begin before I transfer them down to paper and begin the tight drawings.

In Canto 11 you can see the initial sketch for the cover image. I changed the figure's pose to be more distinct from the Book One image of King Arthur and Duessa. I am still working on the tutorial for this month, in which I hope to give more process details about the development of this image. I really enjoyed working on this image! I love working on this kind of epic confrontation in illustration. And it was a lot of fun to get to draw on some of the classical sculptures I've always loved.

We are nearing the end of the Faerie Queene project! I will be diving into book 6, the final book, in the coming weeks. After that, I still plan to revisit some of these to add some color to some of the others that really deserve it!
