Halloween Hi-Res Drawings

Today I have some halloween drawings for you from some of our recent Twitch streams!

First: The Frog Necromancer's Tower!

I drew this over top of my original sketches, using the value comp below as a bit of a lighting guide:

I am very excited about this one. We will be diving into color on it this weekend on Twitch! Hopefully Saturday at 5PM EST, but if not, then Sunday night instead. (I am scheduled to take part in a live interview with Iain McCaig for the Norman Rockwell Gallery Saturday morning, and this may bump our regular stream schedule.)

Next I have the Nocturnal Infernal! This month's #LETSDRAWMONSTERS creature:

And for good measure I have added in our preliminary studies and sketches from the livestream so you can see where we started from:

Lastly, we have the Hell Hound for FANSTRATICS

Which was a really fun stream. We put a bow on him, and tried to make him a good boy, but it didn't last. Here he is in his natural state.

Thank you everyone for coming and hanging out with us this month! Lots more to come!

I will see if I can get a link from the museum today and will post it on the discord!

For me, lighting is the big key. I think when there is a lot of chaos and action in a scene, having a brightly lit focal point really helps guide the viewer. I like seeing it as though it were a stage play and you are lighting whoever is speaking or performing at that moment.

Looking forward to seeing this get colored. Let us know in the Discord if there's a way to catch the interview.

And also, question: how do you choose the focal point in a big illustration like "the Frog necromancer tower", with multiple main characters and a lot of different actions?
