March has begun as a pure, unmitigated catastrophe. And I blame Baby Yoda.
My computer is right now a pile of smoldering, burnt toast. The hard drive has been fried to pixelated oblivion and the GPU tastes of hot magenta squares buttered in raw ascii code. The plane has crashed into the mountain.
This means 2 things:
1. I am going to be getting a big tax write-off this year.
2. You are going to be getting a lot more traditional art this month while I wait for a new computer.
The new computer I have ordered, direct from the planet cybertron and made of pure adamantium and rocket fuel, will take 2 weeks or more to arrive and then another few days for the nuclear cores to come online. For the digital art and the twitch streams, this is a disaster; for the traditional art, it's business as usual.
So what can you expect from this train-wreck of a month?
TWITCH and #LETSDRAWMONSTERS:
The biggest of the bad news is that we won’t be doing many streams this month. We are going to try and cobble a livestream together for LETSDRAWMONSTERS using my ipad. After that, we may take a week off Twitch while we sort things out. When we come back, we should have twice the power, twice the top-knot, and hopefully be able to do things like studio tours, mixer brushes, and karaoke. LETSDRAWMONSTERS is this Wednesday at 5PM. Tune in for what will surely be MADNESS.
The CLASSIC FANTASY ILLUSTRATION for this month we will be doing more traditional work for the BATTLES series with War of the Worlds. We are also diving further into the Faerie Queen and I will be sharing some behind the scenes stuff for that later in the month. We also have a secret project for a major game series that we will be doing a poster for. If the new system arrives in time, we will be streaming the development of this one live later this month and sharing some behind the scenes action. (It will AWESOME.) Things will be sparse at the beginning of the month, but then there will be a few big reward bags at the end when we can finally scan it all in.
The Monster of the Month is a reeeally good one this month. One of the most fun, and most evil-looking creatures so far. Thankfully the drawing for it was already scheduled before the crash, but I cannot color it without the new rig, so the final color will probably show up late in the month along with the brush set and process guide.
Mentorships:
Due to the crash, we are going to be pushing these back a week. (Fingers crossed we are back up and running by then...) Here are the current available dates:
If you are signed up, please let me know your desired time and date ASAP as these spots are first come, first served!
So, in conclusion, March is going to be an absolute MESS. It will be famine at the beginning, feast at the end. Thank you for sticking with me everyone while we sort out these technical difficulties. In the meantime, enjoy the hi-res of Baby Yoda eating my iMac...
