"The Lop-Eared Landshark"
Backstory:
This ugdorable creature is said to have been a truly terrible pest for farmers in the 4th and 5th centuries. Often cited as a contributing factor in the collapse of the Roman Empire during that period, they were a constant scourge in regions with sandy soil, through which the omnivorous landsharks could easily burrow, and even it seemed, swim. Beneath the soil they would use their long ears to listen for sounds above, as they stalked and ambushed their unsuspecting prey, wether it be vegetable or animal. Now these creatures are all but extinct thanks to over-hunting. (Their meat is unsavory, but their pelts are of immense value.) It is rumored some of these remarkable and elusive creatures still live in desolate places, in deep tunnels beneath long-abandoned fields."
Today's goal is to capture a 50/50 blend of cuteness and horror in a design of the Lop-Eared Landshark.
