Grumble Bee video and BRUSH SET

First, I should say that this video isn't the best since this is a time-lapse directly from our Twitch stream, and I am TERRIBLE about zooming in and out too much. So I apologize for the somewhat jarring viewing experience. (We will do better in the future) Still, it gives a good idea of how I was working and using the brushes.  If you'd like to see it in real time please check out the VOD section on the Twitch channel.

The Brush set contains some really fun new ones. "Bee Striper" is an excellent oil brush and in combination with "Bumble Bee Hair" is how I made most of the hair and fur on this guy. "Gore Modeling Brush" is one my favorite inky watercolor brushes. I made it a while ago and just never put it out there, so I have added it to this set to round out this little collection.

I hope you enjoy them!

PS! Today we are demoing the new CARBON Brush Set on Twitch at 10AM. We will be taking speed drawing requests from the chat and giving out a bunch of copies for free. Should be a lot of fun. Or a complete disaster.  Either way, stop in and say hi!

Thanks Matt! That is a great idea and I will definitely try that for the next one. An issue I never could solve with that though is that the new window only gets the final brush update, but it doesn't show the stroke as you are painting it or the cursor. Do you know of any workaround to show the cursor and brush stroke as you are painting?

Justin Gerard

I really don't think it's a big deal for me - but if you want to avoid it I know how. You have to make a new window for the piece via Window > Arrange > New window for XYZ.psd that makes another window of the piece that doesn't zoom or rotate but updates when you paint. You can set OBS or whatever to capture just that window and it comes out clean! I've done it a few times but with no eyeballs its not worth the effort lol

Ahhhh Steve, that is a great idea! I've done that before, but stopped because it ate up memory on my system for some reason. Still, even if Photoshop was a little slower it would have made this video waaaaay better. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to do that in the next one!

Awesome! I love seeing how these coalesce into a finished painting! I pan and zoom constantly. One thing I've found useful for video, is to have an instanced window of the painting on another screen, and set the video capture to that window instead of or in addition to my working space. (If you do both, you can edit so you can still show detail work.)
