Here's this month's Spent Rounds!
I was thinking about what projects I'd like to pursue once my current slate of comics are done. I've decided that Fallout is the most compelling. So I took a day to refresh the test set I made a year ago and added a couple of new renders.
My rendering techniques have improved considerably in that time, so a fresh batch was called for. Hope you all like the sample above. ☝
The MC's Nora from Fallout 4, with her canon background. She's a lawyer supporting her war vet husband while he looks for a job. He dies in Vault 111 and her baby gets kidnapped. So she goes on a hunt through the Wasteland to get her child back.
As I mentioned in the original post, I hated how Bethesda neutered the Fallout franchise from the days of Black Isle (Fallout 1 & 2). The Black Isle games were much more gritty, friendly to role playing, and had nuanced gameplay as a woman. The Fem PC could use her looks to get charisma boosts, sleep her way out of tricky situations, and even become a porn star!
Todd Howard (the c*nt that he is) did away with all of that. 😠
Anyways, when I move on this project, I'll add some spice and a garnish of my special sauce to the mix! 😋
In other news, I just heard that Patreon is getting rid of creator goals this month. This fucking blows, and it makes no sense! Just another example of how tone-deaf Patreon is. 😒
So, you'll see my official goal bar disappear very soon. I mention this as I don't want people to think I'm reneging on my pledge to do art full-time if I hit $1000/month.
That is definitely still on, and I'll try to find another way to pin that information on my page. It just fucking sucks as that goal bar was a far easier way for my pledge to be visible to my supporters!
Erstwhile, I'm working on the next installment of Power Girl, and it's coming along very well! I had to take a business trip out-of-town and still busy with work, but I have two weeks off coming up very soon. I plan on powering through with my renders then.
So the next Power Girl update will be a sizeable one and should come towards the end of May.
Oh, and all you guys eagerly waiting for Batgirl, don't worry. That is definitely my next project after Power Girl! Fallout is just in the queue further down the line.

Just an idea: You could extend your "Welcome" pined post with a priotiry order of projects (ETA not need just a numbered list would be fine I think) and maybe also with a list of projects / tasks in the freezer so people know that you still have them in mind

2023-05-14 19:09:36 +0000 UTCThanks, man! Haha, you're the fifth person to ask me that in a couple days. It seems the Indy story was more popular than I thought! Indy is just in cryo right now, but very much alive. I just don't have the bandwidth for concurrent projects, so I have to finish Power Girl and Batgirl first before finally polishing off Indy. Indy being a much larger comic than most of my works, it requires extra polish and scripting. Like I want to make a good cover for it, similar to the Raiders of the Lost Ark poster. These things take so much effort to bring together that I need a decent runway to pick up speed and finally launch off the ground. I certainly didn't make almost 500 renders just to abandon the project! So rest assured that Indy will be swinging into action onto your screens. It's just a matter of when! 😄
