Unrelated to the question I know but I just read up on some werewolf lore from France. Apparently there was a belief that a werewolf who had been killed came back as a vampire. I’d not heard of that one either. Take that Twilight!

2024-10-11 15:14:03 +0000 UTCI like to believe dead is the better option. Realistically being cursed is horrible and painfully agonizing, both morally and physically. Becoming a mindless killing beast once a month in the most painful transition possible only sounds good on paper. You’re forced to isolate yourself to protect others or go mad accepting the nature of the beast as your own (psychopathy). Even if you do a balance between the two and have a partner willing to accommodate you once a month, the real fear of making a mistake someday and waking up to find your mauled family is hard to shoo away.
