The Morning After the Moon

Art by Chelsea

"The crimson dawn light crept across the misty moors, casting an eerie glow on the dew-soaked grass. Emily stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she slowly regained consciousness. Confusion and disorientation washed over her as she found herself lying on the damp ground, far from the comfort of her bed.

As she pushed herself up, a sharp gasp escaped her lips. Her hands, once delicate and clean, were now stained with dried blood. The dark red substance caked her fingers and embedded itself under her nails. Fear gripped her heart as she realized that her feet, too, were covered in the same unsettling remnants.

Emily's mind raced, desperately trying to recall the events of the previous night. Fragments of memories flashed through her mind—the full moon hanging ominously in the sky, the searing pain that consumed her body, and the uncontrollable rage that overtook her senses. She shuddered at the thought of what she might have done under the influence of the cursed transformation.

Rising to her feet, Emily surveyed her surroundings. The moors stretched out before her, an endless expanse of rolling hills and untamed wilderness. The dawn light painted the landscape in shades of red, as if nature itself was a reflection of the blood that stained her skin.

Emily's heart pounded in her chest as she tried to retrace her steps, searching for any clues that might shed light on her nocturnal activities. The eerie silence of the moors was broken only by the distant cries of ravens and the whisper of the wind through the tall grass.

As she walked, Emily's mind was filled with dread. The blood on her hands and feet served as a haunting reminder of the uncontrollable beast that lurked within her. She feared the consequences of her actions, the lives she might have inadvertently destroyed under the sway of the full moon.

With each step, Emily's resolve grew stronger. She knew she couldn't continue living like this—a slave to the curse that had befallen her. She had to find a way to break free, to regain control over her own fate. But for now, all she could do was make her way back to Davidstown, back to the safety of her home, and pray that the blood on her hands was not the result of an unforgivable act.

As the sun continued to rise, casting away the red hues of dawn, Emily pressed on, her heart heavy with the weight of her curse. She knew that the road ahead would be fraught with challenges and heartache, but she was determined to face them head-on. For in the end, only by confronting the beast within could she hope to find redemption and peace."

I imagine the wolf would also fight for its life, unlike how it’s depicted in this art.

Darkbeast73

That would be different and cool to see. Does the wolf go quietly or does it fight to stay in control the same way Emily does?

Crow Dog

Nice art. For season 2, you might consider doing a reverse transformation at sunrise back to Emily from her wolf form. It’s rarely done, which is strange considering how many contortions the victim goes through when they first change into a monster. Presumably it would be just as intense changing back.

Agent00Soul

Love the wolf-like shadow.
