A Knight's Simulation Chapter 6: Job Interview

[ It has been a few days since your arrival to Vale, it's relatively peaceful for one, however, you couldn't help but notice that people, mostly girls can't help but look at you, while you're doing a new routine which was jogging at the track field near, some are even bold enough to ask for your number, which you find odd as in this simulation you weren't actively chasing girls, instead it was them who was chasing you, but due to your polite nature you couldn't possibly reject them, that's why in just a mere days, your scroll was filled with different numbers from dozens of women. ]

Jaune couldn't help but sweat at this, he realized maybe because of the title he acquired in the last simulation, his charm was amplified. It also doesn't help that he was muscular in this simulation.

[ Although you didn't really bother to contact them or reply to their text messages, right now, the only thing on your mind is getting a part-time job. ]

[ As this was the city, there wasn't a shortage of jobs you could apply for, it makes you wonder if you should work at a convenience store like you did back in your town, as it was the job that you have a lot of experience in, not to mention you have a good record, however as you were about to decide all of a sudden a lone flyer hits your face and took it away from your face and saw that it was a hiring notice. ]

He stared at the simulated text blankly, this timing was rather comedic. “What a weird coincidence; this type of thing also happens in real life, huh?”

[ In the flyer, it was mentioned that they were hiring a bouncer for a club; the only requirement is a legal I.D. and fighting experience, not to mention the salary was quite good; it was definitely way more than a cashier. ]

[ If this was before you got your talent, you wouldn't have dared to think about applying for this position; however, now that you're a capable fighter, you didn't hesitate to call the number on the flyer. ]

[ The very morning, you arrived at the exact appointment time and realized that the ‘club’ you applied to was Juniors from the previous simulation. ]

“I knew it! I have a hunch it was that club, but to think it's really Junior's, what a bizarre coincidence this was.” Now he was more invested in where this would take him, and at the same time, he was looking forward to meeting the twins as they seemed like a pair of nice people or at least the decent kind.

[ Your appointment soon started, and it was honestly nerve-racking as you just realized how massive the owner was; it's like he's a mini-giant, but despite his appearance,, somehow he didn't feel as intimidating,g, and that's why you were able to go through, the job interview without a problem. ]

[ Then what came after was a test of your combat experience, to your surprise the judge of this interview was none other than Miltia. It was the girl who you almost seduced alongside her sister in the last simulation. ]

Jaune wasn't surprised by this reunion; after all, it made sense as the twins were working at the same establishment; although it was a bit unexpected for him to meet her this early, he originally thought that he would meet the Malachite twins after getting the job.

[As you expected of her, Miltia greets you politely and tells you that she would be responsible for evaluating your combat skills; however, due to the look of surprise on your face, she misunderstands and says. “You don't have to worry about me, I'm very capable despite how I look, so don't worry about holding back as anyone who did would find out that I'm not to be underestimated.”]

He couldn't help but let out a chuckle at that, if it wasn't for the fact that he knew how ‘capable’ she and her sister were, he wouldn't think much of her warning, however, he knew how powerful she was, as it was shown in the previous simulation of their monstrous capabilities. “My simulated self would definitely not underestimate her.”

[ You quickly shook your head and replied that you weren't underestimating her, thinking of an excuse, you told her that you were surprised at how pretty she is, and the instant she became flustered at your unexpected comment, then quickly shook her head as it wouldn't be quite unprofessional of her if she would get swayed by her emotions especially during an evaluation, then she told you to start. ]

[ To which you didn't hesitate and immediately tried to tackle her with your too speed, however despite being borderline superhuman, she was way faster than you and managed to avoid it,, you definitely made an impression as she was quite surprised by your unexpected speed, then you didn't stop there and did a high kick which would normally break a bone, as you didn't hold back with that kick, Miltia casually blocked your kick, then grabbed your leg and threw you above the air. ]

[ Despite being airborne, you didn't panic and landed in a position that reduced the impact as you landed on the ground. ]

[ Without hesitation you attacked her once more, this time you tried jujitsu and you succeeded in trapping her, however, it didn't last long as she was too strong for you to contain, which was impossible given the difference between your physiques, as she got away from your grasp, it was her turn to go offense. While her techniques were pretty basic, however, due to the difference in stats, you were basically a training dummy from her perspective. ]

“What the heck? If her physique isn't as good as mine, then how did she beat me in terms of strength and speed? There's definitely some sort of secret for this kind of ability, I have a feeling that only a huntsman can have this sort of power.” He guessed and hoped that he would find a clue to how to acquire this sort of supernatural ability.

[ At the end of the evaluation, you were basically a dead fish as you could barely move as you were so exhausted. ]

[ Miltia was barely sweating the end of the ‘fight’; she praised you for lasting this long despite being a civilian; she said that you were the only one who lasted this long and you'll be guaranteed to take the job. ]

[ You nodded at her words and were relieved that you got the job, but you were curious about one thing and asked her how she became this strong; it was clear it wasn't due to having better muscles as you were clearly superior in that aspect. ]

[ Miltia was a bit surprised by your question. “You really don't know? I thought everyone knew about aura by now.” ]

“Aura..? Is that the reason why she's able to move like a superhuman?” Jaune muttered under his breath.

[ You shook your head, as you really don't know about aura, and proceeded to ask more about it, but before she could continue, she was called by the boss of this place and could only look at you apologetically saying that she would continue explaining about it in a later date. ]

[ You could only nod, a bit disappointed but you knew that she had her responsibilities, that's why it would be rude to stop her, besides it's not like you won't meet her again as according to her evaluation of you, you were basically guaranteed for the job. ]

“It might be days or weeks for my simulated self to get a proper explanation, but for me, it would only take a few moments of my time.” Besides, even if things go south, he could still try again tomorrow.

[ Later you were called by the boss of the club, he told you that you got the job and you start working tomorrow from 7PM to 12AM. ]

[ But before that, he told you to take a measurement so that by tomorrow your uniform would be ready. ]

[ And tomorrow quickly arrived, and now you're an official bouncer for the club; the job itself didn't demand much. However, it was definitely boring having nothing to do, but you didn't complain much as you were thankful that it was peaceful and not chaotic. ]

[ After a few hours of standing still, you got so bored that you almost fell asleep, but thankfully, someone distracted, and it was the twins; as you already met Miltia yesterday; today, you met the eldest of the two, Melanie. ]

[ Then they initiated a conversation with you, to which you gladly answered as you were bored and had nothing to do aside from being an observer. ]

[ Unlike the previous simulation, your conversion with the twins remained formal, as you weren't trying to seduce either of them, nor you were as good with words as in the previous simulation, although there was an occasional teasing that was and nothing too serious as they were just trying to introduce themselves to you, the newbie. ]

[ And just like that, a month had passed since your arrival in Vale. ]
