Restaurant Of In Between Chapter 6: Fairy Crystal

This is a non-beta version, the beta will arrive soon.

----

Unlike my previous customer, this one is unlike any of them, while they may be from another world, the fact that they're still human, with the exception of Kirito of course he's literally a game character, but still a human regardless.

However, Serie is different, not only she's a different species, but someone who is a very popular race which are the elves. They might be fictional or maybe they are real but went extinct or went into hiding in my world but they are very real in other worlds.

It has already been proven as her existence proves that point.

Before I began the questioning, I thought of something. “By the way, before we start. Do you have a preference of what food you want to eat?”

It's a very important question, because from what I've read about elves before, they are mostly vegetarian, at least in most books I've read.

Serie looked thoughtful and then said. “It's been a long time since I've eaten a dish called fried wyvern pig.”

A what..?

I literally have no idea what that dish is, as if seeing my confusion.

Serie rested her chin on her right hand and said. “If you have no idea what it is, then you can cook anything you think is good, don't worry about my previous request, after all there’s hardly anyone, if not no one knows about that dish anymore. Not to mention plenty of its ingredients including the most important one, the wyvern pig. It's been several hundred years since I've seen one alive.”

From her voice alone, she was expecting this kind of outcome, which honestly irks me a bit, it's like she's looking down upon my establishment like it was any other.

Maybe if I didn't have access to the store, then I might give up and forget about it, but right now. I have the means to get what her desired dish is.

Then I looked at the system’s store and searched for the dish she was looking for and I was honestly surprised to see that the dish was an EPIC rarity.

Although it isn't as expensive as the ( Century Soup ), it's still several million yen. It's something I can't really afford right now.

Even though I did say that the meal is in the house. I don't think that it's possible for me to do that with how expensive this dish is.

Letting out a resigned sigh. “It's not like I don't have it, however I can't access it with my current fund.”

Serie looked surprised at my revelation. “Do you actually have the dish?”

“Yeah, it's just expensive-”

“I don't care, tell me the amount you need and I'll pay for it.”

Serie cut off my words and looked serious as she realized that I could actually get her desired meal.

“Are you sure..? I mean-”

“I hate repeating myself, and yes. I don't care how much it is to you, I can afford it.” Serie then took out a beautiful looking crystal and placed it on the table.

“I heard that humans find this valuable, if you truly can get the dish I want, then I am willing to add more of these if it's not enough.”

I took the beautiful crystal and the system showed me what exactly this thing is.

[ Fairy’s Crystal ]

If the name didn't surprise me, the description of the item did.

According to the description, this crystal is the result of a deceased fairy, after their mana completely condensed.

It was a quite disturbing description, it wasn't done just yet, as I've read the most vital part of the information given by the system.

It says that since the crystal itself contained a frankly ridiculous amount of mana. It says that it could power an entire kingdom for many years without a problem.

As it could power plenty of magic based items, I'm guessing that mana is like electricity and the people of that world use it to maintain things.

No wonder it was valuable, normally this thing is useless to me, because frankly I don't know how to use magic and all.

But thankfully I could convert it into cash, or store points.

1 point is basically 1 yen in equivalent.

It basically works like a bank, but with no taxes. It's a win-win situation for me.

As I converted the ( Fairy Crystal ) as it disappeared in my palm, Serie was a bit curious about how I did it, but she didn't say anything about it.

Then my eyes almost popped out of my bloody sockets as I saw the numerical value of the item after I converted it.

It was a billion!

To be exact it's 1,390,450,000.

She could buy that dish a hundred times over and there would still be some leftover money.

What the hell, I mean I expected it to be valuable but this is just a ridiculous amount of sum.

It's the highest amount of money that I personally held, although it's not mine. It's still an overwhelming experience.

“Is there a problem?”

Serie’s words managed to snap me back from my earlier shock.

“No, no, not at all. It's just overwhelming to see how valuable that crystal is, actually with its value you can have hundreds of the dishes you wanted and there would still be some money left.” I told her honestly because I really don't want to lie about the value of her item.

But from the looks of it, she couldn't care less and told me. “I really don't care about the money, it's something unnecessary to me, because after a decade and a dozen more, money will always change. It isn't anything of value to me. You can have the rest of it, so can you give me the fried wyvern pig?”

I was about to say something about it, however it was stuck in my throat as Serie was looking at me with a gaze that sent shivers to my spine.

I did remember that she hates repeating herself, after eventually I relented. “Alright, if that is what you wish.”

After that I immediately bought the dish.

Although it was a shame that I wasn't able to cook it myself, maybe I'll try it next time.

After purchasing the fried wyvern pig, a dish appeared on the counter. It was placed in a massive bowl.

The aroma to the texture of the delicacy was appetizing.

I took it and served it to her, and it makes me wonder if she can finish it by herself. After all, the bowl is way too much for a single person.

But it wasn't really the time to ask such a question, because it would ruin the mood, especially when she looks excited upon seeing the dish.

“Here's your meal.” I said as I placed it into her table.

I saw her smiling, and I honestly think that it's really beautiful…

I shook my head and thought. ‘Nope, let's not think about it, I should avoid having affection for someone I just literally met, because even if I did. There's no way I'd have a chance, because she's way older than me, to her I'm probably just a toddler.’

Aside from the depressing thoughts I'm having, I was looking forward to seeing her reaction.

-Serie-

What a strange place she stumbled upon, when Serie first discovered this building she thought some powerful entity was the culprit of such a thing, after all the amount of mana she felt when this building or perhaps restaurant appeared right next to her home.

The mana felt so dense that even Serie felt that she was about to suffocate when she first felt it.

It was a staggering amount of mana that probably wiped out all the life on her planet entirely, it was such a scary thought.

At first she thought that it was the work of demons, but she ceased the thought as it was impossible for demons to do such ridiculous things without her noticing.

For a short amount of time, to gather this much mana, only a powerful entity. Something akin to a god.

Serie excluded the so-called Goddess Of Creation, because she knew that person personally as someone who is from the mythical age.

The goddess of creation isn't a divine being, but an elf like her. Humans thought of her as a goddess at that time because of the magic she used.

Her name was Vivian, she was Serie’s teacher, her name was long forgotten through history.

But her title remained, Serie is the only person in this world who probably remembers her master's name.

Anyway, she investigated the ‘building’ for a while, looking for something that could endanger the world, but after looking for a while she figured out that there was nothing dangerous about the building aside from its vital protective enhancement mechanism to protect the building and whatever was inside it.

Well maybe calling it a mere enhancement was a bit of a stretch, because frankly I don't think anyone or anything could harm the building or any people that would be inside the very building.

With that in mind, she didn't hesitate to go inside the place as she was confident of her safety, whoever was inside the building won't be able to harm her and the same thing applies for her.

And what she saw inside definitely wasn't what she was expecting, a restaurant of all things?

How intriguing.

A/N: Next chapter is still going to be her pov, and some of you may already realize that she's going to be part of the main character’s relationship, since I've already decided so.

This is going to be a harem, since I'm the author and I feel like being in a Multiversal type of fanfiction without harem is weird.

Also the maximum number of the females that would be in the mc’s harem is 7.

Having more than that doesn't make sense and is too much for my taste.

Also, each one of the girls that will be part of his harem won't suddenly drop their panties, made a 360 personality change by just having a single conversion or falling in love from the first sight of things.

I will write about their ever growing affection with each and every interaction, so it would take quite some time before there would be romance as this story is mostly dedicated to the restaurant.

There would also be conflicts, but only in the future for now, I'd focus more on the characters that will be added as a customer.
