I am curious how he'll develop, as he could be more like Shikamaru from Naruto and is a genius but would prefer to be lazy until disaster strikes.

I think the story would benefit a lot if we got to see more of thE MC's personality traits asap: If their laziness is paired with something it makes them more interesting/ lets you mix up tones. Right now, it's an amusing joke, but any joke gets old when you hear it repeatedly.

2026-02-22 06:24:17 +0000 UTCI've enjoyed just about everything Sage of Eyes has put out, and its still very early in this series so I'll reserve series judgment but I just have one issue. Kanata feels like a bad character. Maybe there are plans to make him a actually useful/good character but right now it feels like the only reason he's breathing is that it's an involuntary response, the fact that he's not dead to be in an even more restful state is that it's to much trouble to kill himself. (If it's not obvious I don't like this character.)
