Monthly Breakdown June 2025

I need to offer apologies for my progress on Campus Avenue suddenly halting this month; I had a lot of things I needed to work out, part of which I explained in my post on the VR Chat Avatar stuff. The long and the short of it is, I've needed to readjust how I've accumulated internalized criticism over the years in order to confront why I'd suddenly lost so much momentum in working on my stories lately, even the ones I'd regained some enthusiasm for.

I can't say I'm 100 percent there yet, but I've written out several thoughts on the matter on discord, esp regarding ideas I was previously enthusiastic for that I "dropped" because of the sense that justifying these ideas so that everyone is onboard with them is impossible. This resulted in feeling cornered--the "fun" ideas ended up being unpursuable because the correct stakes and resolution were decided for me beforehand by a committee of All Possible Audience Members. I have to remind myself that this committee isn't real and I do not need to take its opinion into account... which is easier said than done sometimes.

Writing

Writing has been a little all over the place this month. Fortunately, some of you will be very happy to learn that my personal breakthrough resulted in me finally making a rough draft for A&H Club #6. I know, right? It's been a thousand years.

Small amount of progress have been made on other stories (especially given I've needed to reassess how I'm approaching these stories in light of my personal breakthrough), but in terms of The Witch of Kurikuto, you may find these setting documents interesting: Trustbonds and Magic.

Thank you so, so much for your continued support!

No matter what you come up with we'll love it. All except the haters and trolls but who cares about those losers

Ian

At the end of the day you're just human. Or a space kangaroo. Or a pool toy. But you can only do so much, and sometimes you have to worry about taking care of and being kind to yourself first. You're not Walmart or Goodyear, people decided to support you because we love what you do, not because it's something we need on our shopping list. All of this stuff you've made over the years would have been pointless if you hadn't started by making it for yourself. And that's where the very best stuff comes from. The genuine stuff your heart asks you to make.
